Farrow is such a Helvetica purist so I just assumed that it was two weights of Helvetica that had been stretched using PMT. This was a very common thing to do at the time and is prevalent on so much design of the era. When I was creating this celebratory graphic for the 'art on your sleeve' Facebook group, I lined up a scan of the sleeve and recreated this using Helvetica Neue Black and Light as an overlay to see if it matched up.

Sorry, PMT stands for Photo Mechanical Transfer. Graphic design back then was more complicated than it is now If you are interested in this sort of thing, definitely check out my 'art on your sleeve' podcast and the Facebook group.

The photo was shot in 2012, I don’t know if it is called “the Carlyle” today... the almost corretto framing is because I’m a photographer and I told my friend who took the photograph where to stand

I'm going to be a few short hours away from there soon, and trying to convince my wife we should take a road-trip...

Didn't make it last year but am back in FL right now and seriously planning to make the Carlyle pilgrimage in the NY.
