What’s truly “missing” from the Further Listening discs?

Very is missing Can you forgive her (swing version) and (arguably) the whole of Relentless.

Bilingual is missing Paninaro PSB extended mix
Discoteca PSB extended mix

The Bilingual tracks would have been included if the remit hadn't been just one extra disc.

This is why Spotify/Apple music sucks and physical media is still the way to go.

I feel bad for newer PSB fans who have to search out these tracks now. It seemed like just standard stuff back in the day. I never thought for a moment that so many tracks would become so hard to find.

(I realise a lot just end up on YouTube or as torrents. I guess it depends how much of an audio purist you want to be)

I feel bad for newer PSB fans who have to search out these tracks now. It seemed like just standard stuff back in the day. I never thought for a moment that so many tracks would become so hard to find.

On the contrary, with Discogs and eBay it's much easier than it was back in the day... especially for those in far flung corners of the globe. It's just that nowadays people aren't used to making the effort, which is probably reflective of that Spotify culture you point to.

I was just looking through my Pet Shop Boys CDs yesterday thinking that every single CD there would have a story behind how I came to have it, and occasionally the lengths I would have to go to get it. Most of those stories are now long forgotten, but it was interesting to reflect, that with each would have been a little buzz that "a-ha, now I have it!".

I generally listen to my music now in digitized FLAC form but I do still love being surrounded by the physical discs and artwork.

A great way to write one's memoirs.... "The album Actually by Pet Shop Boys was given to me for Christmas 1987. It was a cold winter as far as I recall. Me and my brother had been out in the snow all day..."
