That being said, I realised recently (after some soul searching) that my days of being a collector/completist are largely over, because as others have noted, my age group is no longer the target audience (except in the case of brand new material).
Reissues for more seasoned bands seem to be more about outreach to new (often younger) audiences. Who hasn't bought a reissue of an album from a long retired act in their teens?
I love these cardboard gatefold sleeves now, but unless something really special comes along, I doubt I will ever buy a PSB album from Please to Elysium ever again.
I know what you mean - I've already got everything I ever intended to get (i.e. pretty much everything) and can't justify going and getting a reissue with the same sound quality as another reissue I've already got.

They're not replacing the FL editions, but the jewel case versions that have been continuously in print since their various original release dates. Jewel cases are becoming less common - these are just keeping the CD albums available and more up to date in design for anyone who discovers PSB tomorrow and still wants to buy physical digital media. I won't be buying them but nor was I about to go out and buy a jewel case version of Nightlife either.
I take your point that these aren’t really aimed at replacing the Further Listening editions, but more at keeping the core albums available in a consistent, current format. I suppose I was looking at it from the point of view of someone who already owns the FL editions and/or the original CDs, where there isn’t much added value.

Is there any booklet with new info or any info in the credits that differ from the original releases?
Sometimes, with other bands, the credits change to reflect lawsuits and other stuff that might have happend.

These reissues aren’t for us. They’re for the casual fan who’s been dragged along or, at best, mildly reminiscent of the Pet Shop Boys output and enjoyed the Dreamworld concert. Next day, they might want to explore the back catalogue. Pop into HMV or log onto Amazon and there they are. All 11 albums. Shiny, new, available and in nice, planet saving packaging.
A prime example is Gorillaz last night at Tottenham Stadium. Took the daughter along as she a mega fan. I only k ow the big singles.
Superb gig.
This morning I’ve bought three of their albums of Amazon.

Seen Gorillaz twice and both times excellent! A band the whole family enjoys. Super jealous you got to go to what is probably THE concert of 2026.

I went for sparks! Gorillaz were a bonus.
I effing love sparks and to see them in a stadium of that size and to see a younger generation actually enjoy, clap whoop and sing along to them was a joy to see.

Oh, I know and I completely get why these exist.
For casual fans, or people who came away from Dreamworld wanting a simple way into the back catalogue, it makes perfect sense. It’s not really aimed at those of us who already have the albums, the Further Listening editions, digital versions, Japanese editions, three slightly different bits of cardboard and a mild Discogs problem.
As I said, my slight grumble was from the collector/hardcore fan and existing fan angle as without additional content or a bizarre aesthetic twist the whole thing feels a bit redundant - never happy, are we?
But as an entry point for newer or returning fans it's fair enough.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've never had issues with Townsend. They are reliable, although shipping to the US can be exorbitant. My shipping on this order was $35.
Glad you have the new CDs! It's nice to have a complete set of these.
