In my opinion I Want a Dog, the Frankie Knuckles mix is a perfect slice of early house. It helps shape the purpose of Introspective as a house album. The piano solo, beats, bassline + Neil's delivery is top drawer. I couldn't live without this.

I miss the thrill of the chase.
During the pre-internet days if you didn't know someone who actually possessed the song on vinyl or cassette, or live in a town with a club whose DJ would play these songs, then you were just sh¡t out of luck! Even when the PSB site posted the unreleased songs/demos and we all sniped them out of our browser caches. That was a fun chase! Most recently do you realize just how easy it was to obtain the Japanese nonetheless with Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus! Within a few days I had 2 copies arrive from a distance of 7,000 miles! Back in the day we would have waited months/years to listen to it.
So, I can appreciate your underground cassette recordings, as I am sure you did as well.

But I think Introspective is only a 'house' album in the same way that Bilingual is a 'latin' album in that only some of the songs have a house element. The next 2 songs, Domino Dancing and I'm Not Scared are pure pop, and have no house element at all.

I love the Thunder start I remember listening to the first time on day of release playing it on Vinyl and I thought about how they going to top Left to My Own devices and while this doesn't it still a wow track in itself funny enough remember it being played in a episode of Birds of a feather

I agree with Debussy that, as a B-side IWAD wasn't very inspiring, but the Frankie Knuckles version is brilliant.

I love both the Knuckles remix and the original version, the original is definitely one of my favourite PSB B-sides.

I'd completely forgotten about the Techno Funk Mix. It's brilliant

Fair enough, but it was released in 1989 at the height of a house era. It's alright, Always in my house, Devices, and Dog are house enough for me to label it as such. Genres are a bit irrelevant anyway as it remains a stellar album.

And yes the Techno Funk mix is awesome.

a classic from PSB was video a very popular ? i remember that i saw it when i was a child

Domino dancing is still a huge favorite of mine. Brilliant remixes, brilliant record sleeves, brilliant video (I admit I had a teenage crush on the woman).

Sadly it was released too late in the year. Could have been a massive summer hit.

It always does very well during concerts.

Domino Dancing

The first time I ever heard this track was when I bought the 12" and played the Disco Mix (same version as Introspective) and was just mesmerised from the first play ! I probably spent the best part of a week playing it on repeat, just watching the silver middle go round and round and being transfixed with the sound that was coming out of the speakers. The last third of the track remains one of my all time favourite parts of any PSB song.

Again the boys had married up the song with the perfect producer for it, in Lewis A Martinee (another fine producer name !), who has done a stunning job on this.

The whole package for this song is amazing, from the covers (both the 12" and 12" remix), to the video. It was brilliant to have the whole glorious 7 mins 40 on the full length video. As Gabby has previously mentioned, the girl in the video was gorgeous, and this made the viewing an even more enjoyable watch (the two boys were stunningly good looking too)

This song cemented my love for PSB, and I knew at this point in the journey that they were now going to be my favourite band forever.

POP PERFECTION ! (10/10)
