Well, these shows were an absolute triumph. That is all.

Miserablism not being played every night will leave me bitter to the grave.

imagine having as good a song as Miserablism in your catalogue and playing it once live in your career. Madness.

Miserablism in new light.
I've always like the song, of course, but it has never been on my top list of PSB-song. But with this Obscure-version I've seen the song in new light.
Imagine if they had released this instead of Was it Worth it? or saved it for Very?

I’ve always thought miserablism should have been the final track on discography instead of was it worth it. Not just because it’s a superior song for me, but especially because it would have meant that the final lyric on their first greatest hits album would have been ‘miserable’ - which as some critics at the time were accusing them, incorrectly, of being a bit gloomy, would have been very very funny.

I’d buy a T-shirt with “Miserable” (In quotation marks, using the obscure font) on the front, with Pet Shop Boys Since 1984 on the back like a shot. That’s probably just me through

As for Monday: It wasn't the Ambient Mix of Music for Boys, but an edit of the original.

And what about Neil's banter. From what I've heard on the youtube-postings, he has reached a new level. I'd like more of it. Imagine him doing a Bono-thing where the banter between songs, especially on the 2018 tour, reached perfection.

As for a proper single off a possible live album, I know many are suggesting Miserablism, but I'd strongly recommend King's Cross, Positive Role Model or After the Event, too.

I always like that story about St. Bono at some Scottish concert. "Every time I click my fingers a child in Africa dies" he intoned in his usual sanctimonious manner. "Well, stop clicking your fingers then, you B******" was the response. Wag deflates pomposity shock horror.

Happy to attend four nights--a truly life-changing experience. The music was superb, and the overall experience was beyond anything we could have hoped for. It all seemed to come together as a cohesive whole that made sense musically, which is equally important as a random assortment of rare songs. It was incredibly giving of Neil and Chris to do this for fans.

I was not bothered by people holding up their phones too much, except one night, when a shorter gentleman felt the need to hold his camera up as high as he possibly could from relatively close up, despite there not being a need to do so. (That is, there were not taller people in front of him.) I am not sure he fully understood how to take photos/video properly. Thankfully, he did not do this too excessively.

Princess Julia was a delight each night, and I so appreciated getting to see her. It seemed like some Pethead treats in her set each night.

Chris seemed to be in good spirits and was dancing at various points throughout the concerts from behind his keyboards.

I agree - there were some folks who did not get how clubs worked. But best not to dwell on that.

I was surprised how well Positive Role Model worked live, it's a song I dislike and it was a banger in the moment. One thing it really drives home is how little the YouTube videos capture the atmosphere of the show.
