Italy plays well, but they make some stupid mistakes and... They had 2 moments when they needed to score, so it would be 4-0 after 45 minutes. Germany had few good chances, but they should rebuild the team. Maybe they need to change 2 players. Good game.

Well, I stand corrected! Brilliant performance by Italy. Maybe England's tactics in the quarter-final weren't too bad after all...

I love my German football and told anybody who'd listen that they weren't all that. It didn't make me popular among some during my visit to Germany over the last fortnight, but I've earned an income as a German football journalist in a past life and find it hard to identify with this hyped generation.

England played to their limits and were outclassed. Germany beat themselves, fatally flawed as they are by their fetish for being liked. They lacked the leaders - or the bastards that I referred to over recent weeks in this thread. Where was the Karl-Heinz Rummenigge or Lothar Matthäus, Paul Breitner, or Wolfgang Overath figure in the team? I'll tell you where - in the past. The Germans have fallen in love with a romantic notion of being liked instead of fulfilling their traditional role of being winners. The likes of Rummenigge are almost forgotten men in German football these days - despite being among the greatest of all football legends, while frauds like Schweinsteiger - anonymous again in yet another decisive game - are advertising male grooming products on German TV.

The tragedy for Germany is that they have the ability to compete but have mislaid their heritage in a rush to embrace romanticism. Romanticism rarely wins trophies. Matthäus wouldn't be picked for the current team - lovely lads you could take home to your mother.

Löw should be sacked in the morning for his ludicrous tinkering and replaced by the likes of Hitzfeld, a real winner who could take this team on. If Löw continues, expect another meltdown in the latter stages in Brazil. Great hair, though.

Drico.

Now you know, how to make this guy play! Critique worked.)))
Spain must win, but I wish to see more goals and Italy deserved it too.

Spain could make Italians went away of the Euro Cup. You know, a draw 2 - 2 with Croatia.

But we are very honored.

I hope we win the final, if not...

This is too easy for Spain. You could see the second goal coming from miles away.

Amazing to think that Spain could have gone out if Croatia had taken their chances.

And it would have served them right.

Tonight was much more like it, though. Same arrogant 'we don't need a striker' starting formation, but the play was fantastic. The passing for the goals was sublime.
This team is definitely up there with Brazil '70.
