Where can i hear this?

Well i think the reason i like it more is the fact it doesn't sound like a psb written song, it's a bit different to what were used to and ...i like that

Can't believe how contoversial this track is. However, I think it's fantastic - almost as good as Minimal.

And by the way, there is absolutely nothing wrong with how Neil sings it. Neil is quite anal about grammar, for example writing West End girls with the small g. So it's just weird to hear him singing a song with bad grammar in the lyrics. Warren's fault, not Neil's.

I think Neil will sing ungrammatical things for the sake of the song, maybe he just felt that "i don't want to feel this pain no more" sounded more sad and lonely.

And this line from excuses doesn't really seem grammatically right to me either
-- I walked into the room
-- imagine my surprise
-- you were sitting close to him
-- staring in each other's eyes

NUMB is SIMPLY one of the most emotional PSB song EVER. You can almost TOUCH the need of loneliness which Neil sings about.

English isn't my native language so I can't claim to be an expert, but with the possible exception of the last line ("staring inTO each other's eyes" might be more correct) I can't see anything wrong in these lines. Can anybody elaborate on this?

Being honest with you, I'm a sub-editor so I spend all day every day cleaning up grammatical errors and I see nothing wrong with those words from Excuses.

Apart perhaps from the inTO that you pointed out but that would be being really, really anal about it.

I think Excuses is excellently written, every word thought out carefully, like a poem.

It really seems to split opinion does 'Numb'. Q mag's review said it was more X-Factor than PSB, sitting uncomfortably on an otherwise flawless album. Popjustice rates it highly, saying it would be number1 on itunes forever, and here in the community it's a pure Marmite track, love or hate. Not heard it myself - cos I don't steal product from the boys via the internet, but am intrigued.

I've decided to rechristen it 'Dumb'
