It is a shame that a really great single has charted so low should have expected it really with previously brilliant singles Being Boring and Love Comes Quickly peaking at 20 and 19

It hardly ranks alongside those. To be honest, I don't think it really kicks it as a PSB single. As a dance record, and a good one, maybe, but musically it doesn't really do anything. It's not got a strong enough chorus to be memorable and it's not hooky enough. Remember 'oh-oh, I'm with Stupid'? I think this is more of the I get along school of low chart position than the 'Being boring' school.

Well, I suppose M-I-N-I-M-A-L is reasonably hooky. But it still sounds like an album track to me. It's a track rather than a song, innit?

After the low midweek charts, it did well to hold onto a top 20. It would have been a bit of a disaster if it charted in the 20's. Number 19 is still dissapointing though. For a good song, the whole package wasn't that great. I don't mind what B-side i get because for 2 quid, you can't expect 2 great tracks. The DVD i don't think a lot of people are bothered about, although i don't mind them. It was cd2 that was poor. Those remixes were rubbish. I cannot understand the fascination with remixes. A few are ok but most are piss weak.

At the end of the day, its their 37th top 20 hit, isn't it? And 20 successive top 20 hits. A great effort, that is.

An Erasure fan version of yourself could give any of the wholly subjective excuses you give to explain an unexpected PSB performance(compared to what you claim initially) when defending a poorer performance of an Erasure record. Once again you are just being biased to your fanatiscism and widening the goal posts to make PSB results look relatively better when in fact objectively it changes nothing - just giving them a poorer standard to live up to.
