Looks like Rovers have hit that downturn I was hoping we wouldn't. I really hope they pick it up again soon as it's so hard to claw back early dropped points at the end of the business end of the season.

Oh, forgot about this photo. Took last Saturday with a mobile phone with just enough charge left for one picture.
Our new ground. A bit different from the last picture I posted here! It is a lot bigger than this photo makes it look (check the workman on the right for scale). And yes, the yellow (orange, whatever) corner is a final feature. Colour coded sides as is the current trend.
Open for (Doncaster Rovers) business January 1st 2007. Can't wait!

Just back from Birmingham 2 C. Palace 1 (Top of the league alphabeticlly speaking)!
I know I should'nt moan (got soaked) but Doncaster Rovers can have Gary McSheffrey...he missed a hatfull. Also Captain stormed off & threw his shirt on the pitch. All is not well. They say the league table does'nt lie, it does this side of xmas.
Next up 2nd placed Cardiff (oh no, there's always trouble there) after Shrewsbury in the Mickey Mouse Cup.

Our club shop (Birmingham) today is offering when you buy a new home shirt a free 2006 club book...is'nt it September the day after tomorrow! Great value blues...not!
Wrexham in round 2 of the 'pop' cup at home (another cheap game to attend, bring them on).
Other news...I hear Doncaster are looking for a new manager...Steve Bruce will be unemployed from October i guess.

Philip, you are very harsh on your side! They lose 1 game to the top of the table side and you already have doomed Brum to the play offs and after one game, you attacked McSheffrey. I think you are being a bit harsh matey.

Yep, Penney has left the building. I'm very upset about it as I feel he's been hounded out by a proportion of fans. I think a couple of decent results and things would have been very different...
Strong rumours of Kevin Keegan for Rovers, although they've been aired before. For the mean time we have to support Mickey Walker, the 'caretaker manager'. Doubt he'll do much wrong in the interuim period.
Let's hope our season really starts here. We need a turn around in fortune quickly!

I know i'm being harsh but i have supported them for 23 years & they have always (in the end) let me down. Apart from 4 years in Prem (4 years of struggle) & a penalty shoot-out loss to Liverpool in League Cup Final 2001 what have i got out of it?
I live around 'Villa' fans so it makes it alot worse for me. I remember the 1987 season when Villa were in Div 2 with us...great for a time but they go up & the next season we're in Div 3!
I'll always remember 'Barry Fry' saying he will get us out of this league. He did. We went down!
As i'm often reminded by the 'Villa' fans..."130 years and won f*ck all, Bir-ming-ham-City".

Aye, but was your first team truly outclassed and humiliated by a League One side on a freezing night in Doncaster in 2005?

That's what's known as football karma, my friend. Barry Fry said live on Southend radio that he loved our club and would never leave us for Birmingham... and then promptly got in his car and drove straight to St Andrews. At the time we were third in Division 2 (as it was known then) and you were 19th. I'm sorry, mate, but I laughed myself silly when Fry took you down. Nothing against Birmingham but he deserved to make a fool of himself with that job. And justice was done in the end.

Barry Fry's incompetence has hurt a lot of clubs. He is loved by the media because he's a character but has no idea what hes doing, either as a manager, or a chairman. I advise anyone to watch the Big Ron program currently on Sky One. It's excellent and shows you how a football club should not be run.

We've made some quality signings in the past couple of weeks so i'm convinced that the 4-2 win at Bristol City the other week will be the sign of things to come for Blackpool this season.
How is Clarke doing at Southend??
