Not always. Remember when Disco 3 was suddenly announced? If I recall, no one was expecting it.

My guess, by the way, is either an EP of some kind, a "Disco" (which is unlikely since it's really too early for Disco 4) or a new single. I'm thinking it may be some kind of an EP.

I would think that since the email came from the record company that it would have something to do with a new release from the label, but that's just me rambling.

Given the fact that they have remarked the fact of being in the studio writing new songs, I bet for a sudden EP (or new single with many B-sides).

Tour dates aren't exciting news (and when they are about to announce them, they don't get that cryptic about it).

It could be about them discovering "Postscript" while listening to "Very" recently. They were very excited to learn of its existence in their album after all these years.

I love all the speculation in this topic

- I wonder if the writer of the press release ever released what he/she would cause by capitalizing the word 'very' in the sentence... 'VERY exciting Pet Shop Boys news announced soon'...

Perhaps it's *just* the UK Tour schedule, or the long-awaited DVD-release of the Fundamental tour...

But somehow I have a strong feeling this has something to do with new material. Perhaps an EP, a totally new single or some unexpected collaboration. And I still can't get that collaboration-album out of my head...

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but a few days ago Teletext reported the tour dates and said that there definately would not be another single from Release* and that a DVD of the Fundamental tour would be out in June.

*Yes, they did actually say Release!
