Its not insulting to be told you're not liked. Might make you feel sad, or you might not care, but if i told you i disliked you, would you really feel insulted?

Why are other posted comments of dislike allowed?

none of which society (including this forum specifically) sees as acceptable even where freedom of speech is generally held as being in place.
Should YOU be allowed to dislike hetrosexuals? Should you be allowed to dislike anything or anyone?

dVTB said theres nothing wrong with homophobia or hetrophobia, just that we havn't got the human right to dislike gays, lesbians or hetrosexuals here, which is a shame. Unless you're bi-sexual, you dislike a sexual act.
The reason it isn't mentioned is because a/ it never happens
How do you know? Which non homosexual said they disliked homosexuals on here?
just as it doesn't mention bigotry against people with red cars, or brown hair etc etc.
I decided not to ask dVTB again, but i'll ask you, what is the definition of bigotry?
If you want to be a bigot, whichever way your bigotry is inclined, I suggest you bog off and find a place where bigots gather and slag off as many different strands of society as they can - because it won't be welcome here.
Why are you being hetrophobic

Open Bug List "petshopboy" daemon

0012 psb daemon fails to grep friendly good advice.
0034 psb daemon goes into forever loop after using a reply from hetrophobia database.
0045 psb daemon does not respond to STOP commands.

My engineers are telling me these bugs are unsolvable, that there should not be
a 1.4 version and the psb software should be EOL'd (end of lifed) as the joke is getting stale.

Depends on what basis you dislike me. If you dislike somebody only because he's gay, is Dutch, has blue eyes, blonde hair, or whatever, it's a form of 'phobia', which is not allowed here.

If you decide to dislike me based on my posts on this forum (some people already do), it's perfectly fine with me. I couldn't care less. I'm not here to win a popularity contest, I'm here to discuss Pet Shop Boys and related topics. This forum also features members I dislike, but my dislike is NOT based on their nationality, sexual orientation, colour of their eyes.

If you decide to rephrase me, please do it correctly. I did NOT say there's nothing wrong with homophobia and heterophobia. I think both are VERY wrong. I only told you that you can be as homophobic as you want, as long as you don't post homophobic comments on this forum.

LOL. If you doubt the statement ('it never happens') then YOU should show examples that it DOES happen. You are the one who claims that 'heterophobia' should be mentioned in the forum rules, all other members in this discussion try to tell you that it's a non-issue. So I suggest YOU come up with examples.

I fully agree. If you can't live with the forum rules, you're free to go elsewhere. If you drive your car, you will have to comply with traffic rules. There's no alternative set of roads with different rules. The situation is different for PSB forums. You have many alternatives to pick from, and most of them have LESS moderation than this forum. This Community is the wrong forum for you: leave. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you made a wrong choice to join this forum. I did so as well, in the past. Get over it and find a forum that suits you.

Bigot - noun [C] DISAPPROVING
a person who has strong, unreasonable beliefs and who thinks that anyone who does not have the same beliefs is wrong:
ie Pet Shop Boy was known to be a loud-mouthed, opinionated bigot.

So there you go - everyone agrees that your beliefs are unreasonable and as you think that we are all wrong you are, therefore, a bigot.

But its not an insult is it mate.
If you decide to dislike me based on my posts on this forum (some people already do)
I like your posts, they've been educational and written in an adult manner.
This forum also features members I dislike, but my dislike is NOT based on their nationality, sexual orientation, colour of their eyes.
So you're saying that NO form of dislike (phobia) against someone is welcome here.

What do you think of those who show their dislike in this thread against me? Is it allowed for them?? Seems to be

I appologise, sorry, you're so confusing.

What is VERY wrong with a homosexual disliking a hetrosexual?

Wheres the homophobia?
If you can't live with the forum rules
I can, i just think they can be improved to either protect hetrosexuals, bi-sexuals or all people of all sexual persuasion.

Those who show disapproval against you, do so, based on your posts. Not on your nationality, age, etc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with showing that you dislike somebody's comment. But disliking somebody in advance, since he's gay, Finnish, black, or whatever, IS wrong.

Yes, we have seen homophobic remarks on this forum several times. I will not be browsing the archives to quote those remarks again, since I don't want to give the responsible posters more attention than they deserve.

To use your logic, you're a bigot cos you think im wrong

It is not wrong to dislike someone or something like spiders, therefore being hetrophobic is OK.

Mark Simpson, the GAY man who coined the phrase "metrosexual" said on national TV, that being homophobic is not wrong, its not a bad thing.

We're going in circles. You don't seem to understand that Mark Simpson is NOT the owner of this forum. This forum thinks differently about homophobic comments than he does. Just like we think different about racist comments as the KKK does.

Once again: you really don't need to comply to the rules of this forum. You're free to leave and to discuss PSB on less-moderated forums with hardly any rules, or no rules at all.

Ok - I'm going to bite once more.

Can you find a post in this thread where someone agrees with you? Thought not.

You asked for the definition and now you try and argue against it. Read it again PSB - especially the second part. Take your time and you might understand it - if not, ask an adult who's got the time to explain it.

This whole discussion boils down to one thing - you can believe in whatever you believe in, but yours views on certain subjects will not be welcome here. This is based on the rules of acceptability that a huge portion of society in general believe in.

You are either very misguided, slightly loopy or just messing around by keeping this going with your strange statements. To say that people are scared of people like me as I might tell them off is plainly stupid. No one is scared of me or of anyone else on here. Actually, dVTB and I have had some very strong debates on here about PSB, which is what it's all about. At the end of the day though we are normal people and, obviously, have a normal sense of right and wrong. A sense that you seem to have ditched somewhere along the way.

Sexual orientation is not something you choose, but something you're born with. People who are heterosexual can't help that, just like gay people can't help being homosexual. I'm very much against judging people on their sexual orientation. It's not relevant for me what the sexual orientation of my favourite artist is. I like them for the music, not for their sex life.

Many gays have to deal with homophobic comments, or sometimes even threats and violence. Their desire is not to be judged on their sexual orientation, so the last thing they would do is judge a straight person on his/her sexual orientation. I condemn heterophobia, but it's hardly existing. Heterosexuality is still seen as the standard, anything else is considered 'deviant' by especially conservative and religious people. Of all the 'phobia' in the world, heterophobia is probably the most theoretical one.

Can you find someone brave enough to speak out, there probably wishing me all the best secretly. You cannot be so blind as to assume that disliking someone is bad, and because in society were told being homophobic is bad, people are scared to speak up.

Well, for them people, i will do so. I will not be bullied.
You asked for the definition and now you try and argue against it.
I asked for your version, which isnt mine. I argued that being the descriptive bigot you gave, isnt bad. And also, you were guilty of being your version of a bigot.
Read it again PSB - especially the second part. Take your time and you might understand it - if not, ask an adult who's got the time to explain it.
Bigotry? Phobic. Ignorance. Intolerance. How do you dare to moralise me
At the end of the day though we are normal people and, obviously, have a normal sense of right and wrong.
If you're normal, what is someone who is different to you?

Is it normal to get slashed with alcohol? Millions dont do it.

Is it normal to like rock n roll? Millions dont enjoy it.

Is it normal to watch football? Millions dont watch it.
