of course its perfectly fine in theory for countrys like china to make money off exports like everyone else.but at least in america we have had something of a major issue particularly with chinese goods.
a whole load of pets died due to contaminated pet food, food for farm animals, toys for children containing lead and online pharmacies supplying pills that were manufactured in china which were found to be basically junk.
make money, but if everyone is going to rush to pooh pooh the concerns of foreign exports, china might not be the shining example of a country where critics should just lighten up and buy on faith.
this is from an asian source no less.

An end to a fab olympics ! its amazing the no of WRs that got bashed. We all have to admit that it was flawlessly executed and it will be a tough benchmark for any host nation to follow.
Well we managed to rake it 3 medals and atleast for a brief while put aside the attention given to 'cricket' and hopefully it triggers a planned change ahead.

Well if the abysmal hand-over 'piece' is anything to go by, it'll be cheap and nasty like our modern culture. Leona Lewis caterwauling over Chairman Page's riff, David Beckham smiling and kicking a solitary ball into the stadium (haven't you got a match this weekend?), an ugly modern bus (I'm rather surprised it wasn't a bendy bus) and er, that's about it really. Genius.
Set against the Chinese performances, it looked like a local amateur dramatic society had wandered on-stage at the RSC. And then there's this afternoon's concert which appears to have been an attempt to assemble as many c***s on one bill as possible.
True ! even beckham looked a little sheepish. Why couldnt they get the veteran athletes to be there or atleast get a bag piper band to throw something at the chinese drummers
but the funny thing is everytime a closing ceremony is over, everyone goes..this is the best ever and promptly forgets the previous editions. As is London is soo expensive, can imagine the prices in 4 years time..

Plenty, actually. Japan is all about manufacturing: Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Nissan, Yamaha, Sony, Canon, Sharp, Seiko, Panasonic, Epson, Mitsubishi, Fuji Film, Hitachi, Olympus, Nikon, Nintendo, Casio, YKK, Brother, Sanyo, Toshiba, NEC, JVC, Fujitsu, Bridgestone etc.
When I lived in Japan I was always astonished by the number of my students who worked in manufacturing of some kind. Now I am back in Britain I am struggling to think of anyone I know who is involving in the business of actually making physical products to sell...
I have just had a look at my own electronic possessions to see where they were made: my iPod and pc (DELL) were made in China, whereas my camera (FujiFilm) and phone (Sony Ericsson) were both made in Japan! (All were bought in the UK.)

I hear you Dipso, most of our electronics will be japanese or chinese made. But like the point that Glenridge brought up is more of what I meant. Anyway, I do look forward to the games in London in four years time. I will go and should be great, David Beckham looked good, but why would Leona Lewis be singing that Led Zepplin song with Jimmy Page? WHy not Robert Plant, oh well it adds extra glitz to the event.
