Hello Shopper Uncle! :D

Today I was in Worcester when an old woman came up to me and asked me if I was from the King's School. I looked across the road and saw a minibus with the words "King's School" on the side containing a group of sixteen-year-old school girls. This old lady thought I was one of the school girls! She certainly made my day (even though I am sure she needed new glasses!). :D

I'm now officially in my early 30s and I still don't really know where my life is going. At the moment my job has hit a dead end and I don't really feel like I live anywhere. My parents moved away from London last year to Clacton (on the North Essex coast). As I was still saving up to buy my own place I felt I had to go with them (if I'd stayed in London to rent I'd never have been able to save up a deposit for a place). Now I'm living in Clacton at weekends and staying with my Aunt in London during the week. I feel like I'm in limbo at the moment. Hopefully I'll have enough money soon to be able to up roots and start again somewhere.
I feel exactly the same as you DJ Culture - I moved down to Bournemouth from London, where I earned quite a good salary, last year. One of the reasons i moved was price of property and all the rest only to find that B'mth area is now, after central London is the most expensive place to buy in UK - it is crap. I'm living with my parents whilst I try and decide what to do with my life and currently temping but I feel in limbo as if there is no way out - I'd quite like a clean break and to move to a biggish city like Manchester or Leeds, but easier said than done - I've got good friends here but everything is very routine you do this on a Monday, this on Thursday and so on - I cannot deal with that level of routine and life is passing me by.
Property prices are ridiculous. It's getting near impossible for single people to afford places of their own. I was talking to a friend of mine the other week and we realised that our generation have had a hard time with the UK economy. When we left school and were looking for jobs and a start in our careers the country was in recession and jobs were scarce. Now we have jobs and are looking for our own places to live the economy is mega strong and prices are through the roof.

I know exactly what you mean when you say life is passing you by, Flaffer. I feel exactly the same.

Approaching 52 in a month's time--- I say that life certainly seems better when you are young, and still living in the childhood years.
I also see a trend of Mid-life crisis appearing at a far earlier age than it used to!
Is that because over the years Children have been pressured into becoming adults at an earlier age. Therefore by the time they are in their early 20's they feel life is passing them by?

I watch young mum's (barely adults themselves) treat their tiny tots like they ought to be in 'university' already!
Is this a sign that I am OLD?
