Re: World Cup 2018
Belgium and France will be playing in my city, I hope to see many tourists from both country. Honestly, European people don't go to the World Cup, but Latin Americans are everywhere. People fly 15-17 hours to get Russia. I know that the propaganda says a lot of bad things about Russia now, but never mix the politics with people.

Re: World Cup 2018
i think the main reason many England fans didnt go was not politics but more to do with the state sposnsored hooligan element that was on show in France, lots of scare stories and lets face it nobody wants to end up in a russian prison.Parkol wrote: Fri 06 Jul 2018, 10:24 pm Belgium and France will be playing in my city, I hope to see many tourists from both country. as it is i thought Putin would clamp down on this side as he would to be able to turn around and say to the world look you were wrong as we know "The Dictator Decides" ( obligatory PSB Reference)

Sweden would score few times, but... The game was OK. I still think the best teams are at home already: Spain, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay.dynamobjornen wrote: Sat 07 Jul 2018, 6:16 pm Congratulations England, the best team won. Oh well, only four years left until the next chance....

Re: World Cup 2018
I'm petitioning for Croatia to stop winning by penalty shoot-outs, this is some heart-threatening stuff.
Against England, whatever happens, I hope it's done in a quick 90 minutes - I doubt the players could take it, our team looks knackered. But Croatia likes the underdog role, so...who knows. We might just sneak into the finals.

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

Re: World Cup 2018
Everything is OK, but people didn't like what Croatian players said after the match.
Maybe it's good to lose now than if England will beat us in Moscow. Why? Because the propaganda works so well here and England is an enemy much more than USA for Russia now. It seems Putin hates UK after all spy scandals and etc... So, it's not a good moment to make relationships worse. We have good relationships with France, Italy, but not with UK.
Europe doesn't understand one small thing... I live here, I see people, I see the mentality, I see how people react. Every 10-th car has a sticker "To Berlin" or "We Can Repeat". People think that Europe is a US slave, they let man merry men and etc... So, the football is very political now. I know that 15 July everything is ended. And I am afraid that Putin will block Russian Internet and we will have a new North Korea here. People are angry that such a small dog as UK can bark at such a big beast as Russia. Media repeats it every time and they say Trump will not help UK or Europe if Russia will decide to make something bad, because Trumps really cares about relationships with Russia and China... Croatia is not the best friend after they scream about Ukraine yesterday. I hope everthing will be fine, but all I read in the net is 15 July the world will be changed.

It’ll be close I think. We are on a high at the moment. If it goes to penalties at least you guys have plenty of experience. I too hope it is done in 90 minutes.

Re: World Cup 2018
I don’t know what was said by the Croatian players yesterday, I’ve missed that. The problem is portrayed over here (not necessarily agreed by me) is that Russia just does what it wants and nobody stands up to them - the UK seems to be doing that. If the UK is seen as a ‘small dog’ compared to a ‘big beast’ that is worrying. This world cup to me has put Russia in a good light - it has been one of the best for a long time, but you are right, football has been politicised for years now and it’s wrong. I thought this may bring Russia closer to Europe, but from what you say this may not be the case.Parkol wrote: Sun 08 Jul 2018, 9:39 am Everything is OK, but people didn't like what Croatian players said after the match.

Exactly Pod, doesn't take much to work out the contradictions in what Parkol says (but he does have history, surprised he hasn't mentioned how ice hockey is all Russians care about anyway but then again Russia only made the quarter finals of the recent World championship so it will be something new now no doubt!), this talk of how Britain is a 'small dog' and Russia a 'big beast' just makes me laugh and sums up pathetic attitudes from people such as him who goes on in the same breath about his worries about Putin!Pod wrote: Sun 08 Jul 2018, 9:51 amI don’t know what was said by the Croatian players yesterday, I’ve missed that. Anyway, this is the world cup and is about football not politics, it's been an excellent tournament and I'm immensely proud of the performance from the English 'big' Lions whom have done the nation proud whatever the outcome on Wednesday and it has be good to see. Nobody gave them a hope before the finals and they have given their all just as France, Belgium and Croatia have and they all deserve their places in the semis. For me it is far too close to call now and any of them could win, with the South American teams out at least the games will be played in better spirits, the antics of some of them has been absolutely scandalous and needs to be wiped out of the game.
Anyway, great week ahead and new champions this time next week!

Honestly, I wanted Belgium will win, amazing country, wonderful people and a lot of street art. France is awesome, but Belgium is my love.
