I think that is also part of the plan if Neil's recent Annually comments are anything to go by.

I am interested to see what else they offer up in this range. The teaset is a very left-field.

The more expensive tat like this they sell, the less likely we are to get souped-up, sexy superdeluxe editions of old albums in the future so I hope this crock of shit crockery is left unsold, rattling in warehouses for the rest of the decade before being ground down to dust!

How do they decide how many sets to produce? They cannot have ordered many - they must realise how unrealistic it is for people to cough up for this.

Don't even like the design.

Do they imagine they are going to sell a 100? 1000? 23?

Hadn't seen this until I received the email. From the subject line, I thought it would be a retrospective with loads of mixes. Holy ****.

I've been giving this a lot of thought already (probably more than I should), but let's face it, the market for physical music product now is pretty small. They're not shifting thousands of physical copies of albums or singles anymore. We've been truly spoiled this year with the physical releases, and I'd be willing to bet those are a bit of a loss-leader for them.

Is there REALLY a big enough market for a 12" box-set, or a boxset rerelease of all the singles? I'm going out on a limb that there really isn't. We as fans will buy, but they have to diversify to make themselves a real going concern.

I'm NOT a fan of the Kiss merchandising ethic. I signed up to that because of my daughter's love of the band, and the almost daily emails cover an insane amount of merch and rereleased materials. It's pretty obscene and unless something truly amazing comes on my radar I just delete them. I do genuinely hope PSB do not go in this direction, although today has given me some cause for concern.

PSB are probably also having to do some navel-gazing of their own - moving forward as they have done has served them well, but realistically, without now looking back, there's not much more time to look forward with. They rightly SHOULD be celebrating 40 years of pop superstardom.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now - and to be honest this teaset DOES have specific meaning to me and my wife, as a remembrance of the first time she and I met them.

In the blurb it says limited to 300.

Actually, I'd be quite keen for that to happen - then I might be the only owner of a set in the world once the others are destroyed. Kerching!

I did and I already owned up to it. Several times.

It's no use for the US, the 110v electricity supply makes it nigh on impossible to brew hot tea!
