I think we've been through this before and I can recall either myself or someone else suggesting a 1989 re-release, perhaps for the US market of Introspective where we get the six tracks in their shortened or 7'' versions (perhaps with the exception of Left to my own devices and I'm Not Scared) + a few alternative tracks:
7. Losing My Mind
8. I Get Excited (12'')

I would have done a 2CD version with the 2nd CD being all the single versions of each song. Or shorter more single like versions for the tracks that didn’t have an official single.

They all have single or single like versions.
I think having them there would have complimented the main CD really well in a compare and contrast kind of way.

Would this be all of the 7 inch versions? That’s the same thing right?
I am not the first person to suggest this. Others here have already.

The album seems to be a little polarising. People either really like it or really not like it. I am in the second camp. I do not hate the tracks. I just prefer the single like or 7 inch versions of every track so much more than the extended versions that are on the album.

I think the tracks are really good, it’s just the format of them, extended vs single/7 inch that people seem to prefer one or the other.

Well, no, because the only one of the six tracks whose 7" mix existed when the album came out was Domino Dancing. So it would have been that plus five unique edits - I think there's a 7" promo triple pack from the US knocking around that contains exactly this, though I'm not sure if the edits were done with any involvement from PSB. But if you wanted the 7" versions of Devices or It's Alright, you'd have had to wait until the middle of 1989.

Well hello, this was way back in 1988. We're still talking vinyl. Your idea is not compatible with time.

Er, I purchased Introspective on CD upon it's release in October 1988...

When 'Introspective' came out, there were seven inch mixes of 'I Want A Dog's (B-side of 'Rent'), 'Domino Dancing' and 'Always On My Mind' (UK Xmas number one). Also the Eighth Wonder 'I'm Not Scared', which wouldn't have counted on this album of course.

I suppose so, but aside from Domino Dancing, those are totally different mixes and were only really the starting point for what was on Introspective. If that's what the original poster meant, then sure, I agree. But 7" mixes or edits of the Introspective tracks means something quite different to me.
