Nope, you're misunderstanding it a little. The trade off for free shipping is going to the bottom of the pile and it going out when Amazon gets it ready. If we order at the same time it would be completely unfair for my order -- which I pay shipping for -- to go out the same as yours -- which you went for Free shipping on. They pay for shipping, but you have to wait a few extra days. Sounds reasonable to me. If I can't wait I'll pay the couple extra bucks.

I'm not misunderstanding anything, obviously people who pay for postage should have their order go out first, Amazon is clear about this fact. My gripe is with the fact that if I order two items readily available and a third item that takes approx. two weeks to despatch I'm willing to wait the two, three weeks until the order should be all ready to go, however I don't think I should have to wait two months to get all the items because the third item is still not available and everything else has been put on hold, I've made an order in good faith on the basis of information provided and should Amazons sysytems be inaccurate it is their lookout not the consumers

Standards at Amazon have been dropping for the last couple of years. I have exactly that kind of situation now: I have some books and cd's waiting for two weeks for the Duran Duran biography that was supposed to come out on Monday. But when I checked, now the book is released but is now in the "4-6 weeks" category, despite it being an UK book and me ordering it weeks beforehand. WTF?

I have finally received my Battleship Potemkin CD from Amazon today. A strongly worded email does seem to hurry things along somewhat...

Amazon just always waits till enough orders are placed so they can order items in bulk from the wholeseller in order for them to be able to sell them at such low prices. Hence, the sometimes long back-order times. Ordering from Amazon is like shopping from a stock shop or flying by budget airlines i.e cheaper but not accountable for crap service.

Doesn't do much for me either, I've bought it for sake of collection completeness, but I've barely given it a listen.

Occasionally I think PSB do go a bit too far into the pretentious, and I think this is just about there. Not in the same league as 'Closer to heaven' though!

Here in Spain we don’t have that problem:

Potemkin UK (outer slip case, no copy protection) @ Amazon.uk: 8,99£+1,88£(P&P)=10,87£, about 15,95€;
Potemkin EU (no slip case, copy protection) @ local shops: regular price 20,95€, special offer price 17,95€. More expensive!

I've never had any problems with Amazon. I ordered my copy yesterday and it was dispatched the same day.

I think the lesson I have learnt from Amazon is not to pre-order. It always seems to end in tears.

I bought it for the sake of Tennant/Lowe to my collection, I like the songs with Neils vocals but the music dosen't do much for me; maybe I will have to watch the film.

At last I got the cd. It´s in the finnish shops today. In the main Free record shop it´s no more available. They only got 2 cds of Battleship Potemkin. It´s fab cd.

I have all those albums you mentioned and I'm amazed that we don't, usually if a CD has Copy Protection I don't buy it mainly because I like to have my music on my computer too. Having said that I've got 2 CC Cds and they burn over fine I feel very sorry for people abroad who have to put with this s***

I bought it today. It costed 16,90 €. Great soundtrack.

The Spanish edition comes without cover sleeve , it IS copy controlled, and the Catalogue Number is: "00946 335042 2 6".

But seriously - maybe copy protection isn't legal in the UK?!

@AlfonsoPSB: In our local shops the album is more expensive than buying it from the UK too, but there are other e-shops like CD WOW - that sell the EU edition - that are cheaper than for instance Play and Amazon UK.

Reading this I'm in two minds whether or not to get this. Part of me must get every PSB related CD, but another part is saying "look at this thread, there are obviously problems with this and it will be crap".
