As they probably stitched together the United kit in a sweatshop for a bowl of rice a day, it's hard to be too critical of them.

We didn't have a clue. The EBT scandal only came to light after Rangers went into administration.

It's not 'buying trophies', though. Eleven men still put in an honest shift on the pitch to win those honours. No matches were fixed, or referees bribed. The only 'cheat' was Sir David Murray, in that he used the scheme to avoid taxes, and to benefit financially himself (£6m).

What gets me is those who say that Rangers are dead, and have no history now. That is not true. Rangers Football Club (Est. 1872) is still alive and well, albeit in Division Three now. All that has been liquidated is the company 'Rangers Football Club PLC 1899'.

It's not the first time it has happened, and it won't be the last. After all, the current SPL champions are Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd (Est. 1994). Not many people realise that; And some of those that do, tend to ignore it, to suit themselves. Still the same club, and still the same history, though.

It's fingers in the till time. Rangers didn't buy trophies. They had the most money to spend but didn't go out and pay 20 million on players. They have always had Champions League Football, plus a 50,000 stadium. In the past decade, they have always sold their assets as well.

It's a shambles. They weren't a bankrolled club on the scale of some Premiership teams. I'm surprised more clubs in Scotland dont go under though. The leagues are dead. England amateur divisions get some higher gates that the Scottish third.

Aren't they going to a 14 team premier division? They need to so something. Ten and twelve team divisions are dull.

When a club buys players with money it doesn't have, it is engaging in financial doping. Most clubs are at it in one form or another, with the English Premier League doing a good impression of Florence Griffith-Joyner. At least the international game is largely beyond the clutches of corrupt self-aggrandising kleptocrats.
