See that's why I love the Germans; their domestic football is not subject to embourgeoisement and they still dig synth-pop.

Undertaker wrote:Looking at Cahill's challenge again, it was terrible. A cowards tackle really. No attempt at all to play the ball. Still think red was a bit harsh but tackle like that and you are asking for trouble. You can see why he sent him off.
He was trying to break the guy's ankle, typical Cahill really, I would send the scumbag off as soon as he looked at another player.

I must caution readers that I might be ever so slightly biased

I see that Spazzie Rascal and Fatty Corden's piss-poor song went to number one. For the love of God just download World in Motion and donate some money to Weight Watchers instead!!!!! :grumble:

That's not right; cricket is our national summer sport, and should be free-to-air. The BBC could bid for it if it didn't waste so much money on sending so many liggers to events like the World Cup and Glastonbury.

All top sporting events should be on terrestrial t.v but their coverage is crap. That's why Sky should have it because you know you wont get pissed about. Even when Snooker is on, they will cut a final frame decider because shitty Newsnight is about to start.
James Cordon's World Cup Wankfest was on earlier, and the fat c*** kept going on about how the rest of the programme was on ITV4. Well, thanks to the utter balls-up that is the digital switchover, I can't get ITV4 anymore.

Lucky you. Where once we had Fantasy Football, now we have Fatty Corden. Ditto World in Motion. I've barely seen anything he's been in (never seen Gavin and Stacey, don't really watch much TV) but every time I've seen his fat face pop up on something like the Brits he's been about as welcome as genital warts.

I know what you mean, Patrick, but it's the principal of the thing. I am seriously tempted to just pay half of my license fee next time.

Well to be honest, ITV4 is okay. It shows old episodes of The Sweeney and Minder most of the time.

ITV 4 also has The Professionals and The Champions. It's better than any main free to air channel.

Fantasy Football was a great program. I read Frank Skinners sob story yesterday about him losing a few million through AIG. H'es not a millionaire anymore, so he's going to do stand up again. I don't think it's dawned on him that the reason he's not on ITV or doing the big arena's is that he's not actually very funny. It works a few times but regurgitating the same old crap, wont work.

Oh I beg to differ. Frank Skinner has always been funny. It was Baddiel that was the unfunny one. Mind you compared to Fatty Corden, even Baddiel's a comedy genius. Skinner chose this on Desert Island Discs yesterday.....

We're in Mexico visiting Sam's family and it's been interesting to see the World Cup from a different perspective.

The ref for the Germany-Australia game has the nickname "Chiquidracula" (little Dracula) and he has the reputation as a ref who likes to give out red cards. The commentators during the England-USA match were saying that he'd have sent off Gerrard for what was no more that a high footed challenge where he actually won the ball. Everyone who was watching the game with me yesterday agreed that he had not done much for the reputation of Mexican football with the decision to send off Cahill...

Shut up moaning about the game, Mowbray and Lawrenson. Jesus, if you don't want to be there just f*ck off, I'm sure Motty would come back like a shot. Are Japan meant to come out all guns blazing simply to amuse you pair of t****?

This is going to be another tight game. It's boring to watch but you can understand teams not wanting to commit too much.
