HI everyone, looks like my wife can't join me for the Monday show, so I've got an extra ticket if anyone wants it. Face value of course. DM me if interested.
Still waiting for the actual tickets, I presume we all are right?

Yup, I am basing it on trust that these will eventually be downloadable to my phone before the concert, because I've spent quite a lot of money on getting and being in London over Easter. I don't think I've done anything quite that impulsive or expensive on a wing and a prayer.

100% the tickets will appear at a later date. It's not like anyone has received one yet and others are waiting.

But we don’t know if that particular item is for the Obscure shows or not.
You're right, it may be for an unannounced Elysium Tour.
I know that’s a bit naughty but I literally spit out some coffee while reading it.

Imagine they rick-roll us with an Elysium extravaganza instead of Obscurities. Us PetHeads would lose our collective shit or even worse, throw it at our heroes in a dirty protest. Say No to Elysium!!

Elysium is a fantastic album. Swap out Winner with the HappySad mix and remove Ego Music and the whole thing would be rated much higher by fans. It's probably their album with the best actual production, even if others have better songs.

I'm a big advocate for Elysium. A very misunderstood album.

Elysium also captures Neil's vocals very well. I wish Nonetheless had the same close-up style of vocals.

I think Elysium sounds quite bitter - Invisible, Your Early Stuff, Ego Music. Winner's obviously awful but Leaving is one of their best singles. Nice production and some decent tracks but just that feeling of resentment in Neil's lyrics. It is arguably the biggest shift in mood and tone from the previous album.

That will happen anyway on the Monday as soon as someone’s favorite track doesn’t get picked.
Will this residency include The Pop Kids as a backing band? What’s the set going to look like, d’you think?

Personally, I don't want any Pop Kids or dancers. Just Neil & Chris and those old machines. With the possible exception of a guest appearance from Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner for Patience of a Saint...

Me too, I am not keen on a “band”. Not on Obscure but also I think they are not necessary on other tours. I agree on backing vocals, orchestra and occasional guitar if needed, but I don’t like the “band” concept for the PSB. As for Obscure, it would be a dream if it was like their early performance in the Old Grey Whistle Test.

The "Whistle Test" image is exactly the one I had in mind.. Just Neil and Chris. Pure electronica and keyboards. (Raybans optional...

I would like to see “a band” filling the stage with more keyboards or percussions. Or a guitar for This Must Be The Place

There’s only so much Chris can play/trigger per song. Zero interest in dancers though. Maybe a back up singer would be nice.
