Two excellent games today. The Holland game was really dull but the other two were end-to-end thrillers. It's really picked up as teams realise they have to go for it.

Suddenly England's result doesn't seem quite as atrocious. Italy were dire and showed no imagination or desire whatsoever. In fact, I thought I was watching England for a minute. They'll still go through, though, and probably stumble their way through to the latter stages as per usual.

A tremendously gutsy performance by New Zealand; that's what the World Cup is all about - other than French petulance, German efficiency and Dutch self-destruction obviously.

New Zealand were really fantastic. Ryan Nelson put in the best single performance from any player so far.

I didn't think thee were any positives about England's last game but strangely enough, the result could be. I've been impressed with the players conduct since and what they have had to say. It's very positive and shows passion. These are players that are generally dickheads. It's only words of course and the talking needs to be done on the pitch but a lot of teams would sulk and criticise everyone but themselves.

Not only that but the amounts they pay him too are stupid.

Brazil are miles ahead of anyone else at the moment because they decide how fast to play and can switch between gears whenever they want.

Brazil do look awesome but they may well play Spain in the second round.....

Can FIFA find their balls and rescind Kaka's red and ban Keita for a dozen games. That really is a piss take.

FIFA won't ban him for more than a game anyway. He can rest up for the Spain game.

If you look at the Kaka incident again, you might notice that it looks like Kaka heads him on the side of the face, everyone and their granny is watching for the hands going up nowhere nr the guys face but i thought he'd clashed heads with the ivory coast player?
