Austria qualified ??!!?
Yeah. Unless i was seeing things the other day v Croatia. Doesn't matter how they got there, they have qualified for it. I think they call it 'automatic qualification'

Another excellent game this afternoon although because of the bizarre way that the draw is organised it only means that Germany will face Portugal a round earlier. I've really enjoyed the games so far but the test will come in the knock-out stages when teams have tended to get defensive in recent tournaments. Plus France-Holland tomorrow evening! *rubs hands in anticipation*

Great game. The Germans have one of the worst back lines in the competition. Still can't see them winning it. Infact, their last game is against the home nation. Even though it's Austria, they could still go out. Croatia were far better than what they were on Sunday and easily deserved to win.
Two poor sides tonight but so are the Swiss and the Turks and they played out a cracking game yesterday. So lets hope for more of the same.
Is anyone betting on the tournament? I've had a great run for once. Had a £10 single bet on every game so far and only lost once. Two £10 singles a day on Sky Bet gets you £10 in free chips that can easily be cashed out for £9.
Todays bets were
Croatia v Germany +2.5 goals
Austria v Poland +2.5 goals

Austria couldn't score in the proverbial brothel. Even during happy hour.
*edit* Howard Webb notwithstanding.

Lets hope that at half time that Luca Toni changes his lead feet and 50 pence head.

Can't believe how much shit is in the Italian and French squads. Full of old men. I don't know how players like Florent Malouda get picked.
Di Rossi for Italy looks a fantastic player though.

I thought that Italy were excellent. They didn't play badly in the first game either - they've just been unlucky IMHO. Malouda is without doubt the laziest player I have ever seen - he makes Anelka look committed. France have got to get something out of this otherwise Holland could let Romania through in the final game whatever Italy do.

Italy were unlucky, i a gree with that but they have hardly any pace. They look laboured. They showed what they were potentially capable of when they went behind but that lasted all of 3 minutes. They look too frightened of getting beat.

How many bloody times are they going to interview Fabio Capello? He must be regretting learning English.

What's wrong with Frankenstein Ribery's face? I think he should be sent off.

WOW. That was an incredible goal. Totally Dutch and nothing to do with the Premiership either, Motson.

Motson thinks everyone watching is thick. He also keeps saying ''look at that.'' What else you going to be looking at?

Jesus. Holland really do play the best football in Europe when they're on song.
