Well done Fugitive. Hope starting at 7am goes nice and easy for you. I used to work evening/night shift many years ago and I've never been happy getting up early since! You do manage it though.

Working at the local egg farm with my brother. It's shit, but it's a job - which is the main thing. Also, the money is quite good as well - better than anything i've had previously.

As of Monday, anyone in Scotland and the north of England who buys their eggs from Asda may find they have been packed by me.

were you 'poached' from another firm?
Sorry. I work from 6.30 am sometimes and it is amazing how quickly your body adjusts to the new schedule

Been unemployed since Christmas...had a total of 2 interviews for the whole of February, so many don't get back to you or go "on hold" and you don't hear another word.

Looking for jobs on Jobcentreplus.gov.uk. Saw an ad for a job with an IT company.
"Excellent!" I think, opening up a new e-mail in Thunderbird.
They want applications on dead tree. No e-mail. An IT company!
I don't have a printer; the last one broke and there's been no urgency to replace it, because we rarely need to print anything, as most places you can just fire off an e-mail with a CV & letter.
It's 2009; why don't they have an e-mail address for applications?

I'm back to work full-time next week. My husband's job finishes up at the start of April. There's nothing out there. He's eyeing up opportunities in China

Mary glad your girl is alright now. I'm a mum too and I know how desperate one feels when her/his child is sick.
Congrats Fugitive and Steve! I'm so happy for both of you!

Wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or not with this, but I'd like to shake this guys hand for such an elegant yet brutal put down on the man who is doing nothing but blunder his way through this recession and caused many of the job losses in this thread. .....

damn that guy said some sharp and pointed things in a calm and concise manner. if someone talked to me that way in front of my peers I would have burst into tears and ran back home to mommy.
