So this is an "open format" Playbutton, now that's odd.

Can I add or remove songs from my Playbutton?

If you have an ‘Open’ format Playbutton, it comes with a black USB cord, then yes.
Just swap the files for some higher quality ones then. ;)

Surely you'd buy this for the product and not the quality of the tracks? Or am I alone?!

Thats my reasoning for buying it, since I already have the CD with the vinyl edition also winging its way to me on pre-order

Of course, but for £14 you should still get high quality audio - it's like mastering a vinyl badly just because it's a collector's item noone will actually listen to.

A limited edition collector's item should be of superior quality, not inferior. Otherwise, why bother?
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

Perhaps quality control will improve when they become a chart recognised format.

I'd actually class this as a novelty item rather than a collectors edition

Excellent album. Only "Vocal" is weak.

Well, at 160kbps the quality is too low for me.
I was going to take this on holiday instead of my iPod and listen to nothing but Electric!
Instead, I'll put my Amazon autorip files on the iPod and sell the button.

Listing it on Ebay.

Did they just add the files from the vinyl download coupon? Those are also cheap-ass mp3s, with such a low bitrate that they should be ashamed. So it's sold out then, can't see the page anymore

Really?? The MP3s you got with Depeche Mode's latest vinyl album were 320kbps. And yes, it's sold out - but if you want it just have a look on eBay - with 500 copies I wonder if they will actually be that much dearer in the end, £14 was pretty much already.

Well I downloaded the files from the LP coupon saturday, and I just added Axis on iTunes to see the rate and it was 192.
Is there a picture of this playbutton thing? Sounds like it could look fab. Does it look like the jacket N&C are wearking in the pictures? :)
