Obviously there will never be a re-vote but if there had have been one and it was the same result, would the remainers have accepted it or would they have wanted to keep voting until they got the result they wanted?

Now, the bad news, the "predictions" were based on a trade deal between the rEU & UK delivering near tarif free trade in goods, and passporting agreements for the city being in place. Now, the additional damage expected, and ruled out, of us falling back on WTO rates, is… well… huge. And the current government is saying that is exactly what we need to prepare ourselves for.

Not only are we not out of the water yet, but it's looking like we might be going in far deeper than the Remain campaign predicted at the time.

Consumer confidence remains high, very high, but that's because at least half the country believes the promises of us being 'better off' as we leave the EU. Reality will bite hard in a few years time I'm afraid, when we stop talking about the outlook, and start paying through the nose to try and maintain our current standard of living.
Utter nonsense! Predictions based on Article 50 being triggered straight away! And with the ridiculous excuse the delay has made this better!!! When will you people give up and admit you are talking rubbish? Come back here in 10 years and we will see how things have got (If Britain still exists then of course and if we still have running water and electricity!!)

And please explain what the reality will be? I'm desperate to know. What about our quality of life will drop? Because I don't believe it will, what I do believe though is that our inequality in life will drop and about time too! Imagine, with proper and real restrictions in place companies might actually have to train it's workers up and pay them a fair wage! Terrible for the big businessman that might see their massive profits drop, oh well, they can always move to the EU where they will obviously (not) be much better off!

Stop your ridiculous scaremongering, it is getting pathetic. We are an incredibly strong and succesful country that does not need the EU to prosper (the opposite is true), I know you seem sure that we will not get a fair trade deal but you forget of course that we have a trade deficit with the EU and they have far more to lose than we do and punishing us (disgusting that this has even been spoken of) will be punishing themselves too. Trade deal exist for the benefit of all and if the EU want to punish us then frankly they can f*** right off.

Funnily enough Germany banking giant Deutsche Bank has just taken out a new 25 year lease on it's London HQ, seems that they are not falling for the scaremongering unlike you!

Look, no one can predict the future with any certainty. Why don't we all agree that and move on.

Everyone is also entitled to their opinions so articulating them is the cornerstone of democracy and no one should be demonised for that.

Time will tell how things will turn out, personally there is no greater political issue for Europe, at present, than the effect of Brexit. I'd respectfully suggest we agree to disagree and get back to the music and other musings of the Best Band in the World!

Well personally I think To face the truth is one of the nicest songs they've ever written and anyone who disagrees is a c***.

This is simply not true. The predictions were based on the impact of the vote, and no-one envisaged that Article 50 would be triggered immediately, since that was never going to be the case.

Revisionism is a poor substitute for admitting the Remain side simply got it wrong.

We are leaving the European Union, and given that direct export trade with the EU accounts for less than 5% of our economy, and given that the worst possible case scenario is reversion to World Trade Organisation rules, the maximum possible economic damage which could be inflicted by this is minimal. WTO rules are simply a maximum of 10% import tariffs. This would hurt the EU more than it hurts us, since we run a significant trade deficit.

The UK economy has been chronically imbalanced. An over-valued pound led to imports being too cheap, and exports being uncompetitive, leaving us with one of the largest trade deficits in the developed world. Nothing about that situation was sustainable. So far the economic consequences of the vote, in the form of a devalued £, are positive and place the economy on a more sustainable footing.

@jamie1978 - I would respectfully suggest that the above section of your post is misleading at best. I don't want to get into an economic argument about the UK (especially as I am not British) but around 50% of the international trade in services (excluding travel, transport and banking), exports by UK in 2015 was to Europe.

Well the anti-democrats are out in full force today as promised to march against Brexit despite the fact that the police are stretched to their limits already with what went on during the week.

Apparently a bloke called Tim Farron is speaking whom I gather is a politician of a party that came 4th is the last general elections so not really much to shout about now is it and if that's the best they can do then good luck to them!!!

Saw a mock up poster of Farage as Hitler which was quite well done actually so some good artists amongst the people there, shame they don't see the huge irony in exactly what they are doing though especially in regards to people like Hitler but then again calling somebody a nazi that doesn't share your views is pretty darn easy now isn't it and when it comes to these people is pretty much "cliché"!!

I still think that this march should be towards the channel tunnel and everybody should have their belongings with them on their way to a new life in what they obviously see as "the promised land". I'm sure they would do well in their new lives in Poland or Romania and that the youngsters would find jobs easy to come by in Spain, Italy or Greece........

I do laugh at these utter idiots out today and find it incredible that people say this is what democracy is about when it is the exact opposite. I myself will never ever accept a democratic vote that doesn't go my way again although with their being no relevant opposition to the conservatives whatsoever I don't have much to worry about of course.

It's amazing how angry the leave camp is, despite winning. Doesn't feel like a victory...

Still can't decide if you are being deliberately provocative as your language is distasteful and your understanding of a democracy is false.

That's what you call a bad winner.

A very, very bad winner in our threshold.

My understanding of a democracy is that people accept and support the result of a democratically held referendum, not take to the streets in order to try and overturn the result of one when the result doesn't go their way. What is your understanding of democracy? The right to refuse to accept democracy in the first place? If anybody is being distasteful then it is those that demonstrate against democracy itself, not the other way round.

Imagine if after every general election the supporters of the lossing parties took to the streets and refused to accept the result. It would be total and utter chaos. That is what this kind of thing is about and what these disgusting marches show. Lack of respect and acceptance of a democratic process is a very scary and bigoted way to be and what we are seeing in London is an absolute disgrace to the country. And of course I mean it when I say that if people are really unhappy and have so much faith in the European Union that they should move there. Why stay on a sinking ship if you have so little faith in Britain but so much in the EU? Put your money where your mouth is and move there while you can. That's what I would do if I had so little faith in my own country, absolutely.

Anyway, apparently Theresa May has decided that today's march was so amazing and that some of the banners were so brilliantly done and the chants so friendly and true that we will not be leaving the EU after all so well done everybody that went today you all did an incredible job.......
