Really hope all Germans now will shut up about the '66 goal of England. Easy to say now: Really deeply regret, they don't give the goal, after the match ended! Now's Argentina and we don't will beat them except of the penalties... If we do this, we possibly will have the chance of the 3rd place game agaist Uruguay when Spain will beat Brazil in the final!

Well thank god i wasn't in to watch that. Had one of those tours at White Hart Lane and got stuck in traffic coming home. The gut wrenching text commentary was the best we could muster.

I've not seen anything to comment but know of all the incidents. Galata's pics are the first i've seen of the 'goal.' It might have been a different game but i doubt it. The way England's fantastic braveheart John Terry played, Germany would have always scored one more than us.

Obviously Blatter has embarressed himself again but thankfully, it didn't end 2-1 because it would have given everyone the ammo to paper over the cracks nd blame everything else but themselves.

England just keep on playing the same players that never deliver and the manager has ballsed up big time. I think Capello has a lot to answer for, mainly due to constantly playing the same players in the same system that has never worked. McClaren embarressed himself with the same old thing, then for some reason, Capello is doing the same. Terry, Lampard, Rooney just don't do it in the top games. For the first game, he picks a keeper that played for West Ham, who had a dreadful season. Then he goes for 40+ year old James who also leaked shed loads of goals for Pompey. Joe Hart was the best keeper in England last season and he doesn't get a game.

Upson comes in. Someone else from West Ham who's had a nighmare season. He's playing alongside a centre back who has had a nighmare on and off the pitch and sits in an interview and slags off the manager, which Capello let's him get away with. Crouch has a terrific run for England but can't get a game. Wright Phillips gets on the plane and the best centre back in England last season - Michael Dawson, may as well not bothered wasting his time going.

Half the players looked unfit. I think England have self-destructed in the past 2 months.

I'll watch the game later, hopefully. Mainly due to getting some sort of satisfaction out of the same tossers who think they are gods, balls it up. Obviously i wanted England to go through and it's gutting they have failed again but will anyone that matters, learn? Will we see the same junk next season beat Andorra 8-0 and everyone thinks all is well?

Well played to Germany. By the sounds of it, they were terrific. No big time charlies and the manager just has to be liked.

Hope not. I doubt the F.A would have him because they like managers who lick arse and with all that bung saga, i very much doubt they would offer him it.

Maybe Roy Hodgson would take it before he goes to Liverpool. That's of course if Capello leaves. Personally, i think he will go.

I hope Capello doesn't leave but i get the impression he wants to be sacked. He certainly wont resign. These f*** that play for England will oust him out.

Personally, i don't think i'll bother watching England anymore until some of the same crap are left out of the squad. Can't be arsed with watching the same cart-horses running the team and getting picked all the time.

Good. Now I can watch the rest of the competition stress-free, and I'm already enjoying Mexico v Argentina.

As bad as England were, and they were utterly shocking, Germany were excellent and deserve great credit for the manner in which they clinically took advantage of England's woeful defending. Like Mowbray and Lawrenson mentioned - and god, I never thought I'd agree with them - I think the result is actually a godsend because the hysteria over the Lampard 'goal' would have been unbearable.

I'm sad that the press are already clamouring for Capello's dismissal, though. It's a case of being careful what you wish for - last time a foreign manager was essentially hounded out, England got McClaren as a result. Bobby Robson was widely panned after Euro 88 but England were penalties away from reaching the World Cup final in 1990 still under his leadership.

Capello made mistakes but he doesn't become a bad manager overnight and I'm sure will have learned a lot from the experience.

Hmm, another dodgy decision. Mexico are more of an Ireland than England though.....

How can the officials get so many decisions wrong? These are supposed to be the best. FIFA are a shambles.

Some good games coming up though. Argentina-Germany, Spain-Portugal, the Dutch will probably play Brazil too. I've been impressed with Dos Santos this tournament. What happened to him at Spurs?

He's a good player but comes across as bone idle. Does a few decent things, then you don't see him for the rest of the game.

He threatened to quit the World Cup squad because his brother wasn't picked, which indicates a cry baby. I doubt Redknapp would put up with that.
