What has he achieved? He failed at Bayern when he didn't have Joachim Loew to tell him what to do. Germany were moderately successful during his stint only because Loew called the tactical shots.

Capello has one of the best C.V's around and Sven had a decent track record too. I don't think it matters what you have won, it still doesn't guarentee success, although i didn't know Loew had that much influence when Klinsmann was there.

Why wasn't Maicon booked for that ridiculous 1st half dive? Then he had the nerve to say he was fouled. FIFA need to be looknig at such stuff and banning players for a game. Especially when they still protest their innocence. Surely banning the cheats would virtually cut it out.

No, it doesn't guarantee success - but all things being equal I'd sooner go to a qualified practitioner than to Dr. Nick Riviera.

Klinsmann was the front man for the real brains of the operation, Loew. Klinsmann's idea of tactical preparation was to install statues of Buddha on the training centre roof. That's what living in America will do to you. He had to be saved from himself.

It's got to be Harry. I think the FA will pay Fabio off within the next fortnight, and with Hodgson off to Liverpool, I can't really see any other suitable candidates.
Loew's off after the World Cup, isn't he? Has he got a new job yet?

All a bit harsh. The goalline technology debate has been raging on for years; it didn't just suddenly materialise. What about Tottenham's goal that never was against Manchester United? That was five years ago and I don't remember Andy Gray sweeping it under the carpet, and he's Scottish.
Also, my job involves liasing with translators and local offices all over the world and I can tell you for a fact that this incident has been a major, major talking point in the foreign media as well.

I'd sooner have the Buddha in charge than some of the names the morons are banding about. Stuart Pearce and Alan Shearer How the hell Pearce was given such a role, i'll never know. Walking about in an aggressive manor, clenching your fist and swearing, shouldn't be enough for a top job.
Time to get money on another entertaining post-match brawl, so.

Argentina-Germany: I honestly don't know who will win this. Argentina are brilliant going forward but Germany were too against England. Classic written all over it.
Brazil-Netherlands: Although Brazil will start as favourites, I've been impressed by the rather perfunctory way the Dutch have got to this stage, winning all their games without having to do much. Any team with the likes of Sneijder and Robben is dangerous, and Brazil are set up to play against teams who come at them like Chile did. The Dutch won't. I'm going to go with a shock Dutch victory.
Ghana-Uruguay: Again very tough to call. I'm going with Ghana simply because they have a whole continent behind them.
Paraguay-Portugal/Spain: Got to go with the Iberians.
