I do think that they have released a lot of poor albums, since Erasure from '95. Didn't really care for I Say..., but everything up to that was IMHO ranging from good to brilliant. Cowboy was decent, Love Boat was horrible. Other Peoples songs had a couple of good tracks. I really enjoyed Nighbird. Union Street:The less said the better.Light at the end... was another poor album, except for Storm in a Teacoup, which is brilliant. It sometimes seems like they are not trying hard enough which is a shame, because, I do think that when their heart is in it,they can still deliver a good album.

I agree with what you are saying more or less, I just think that they do their own thing now and get together from time to time to make an album, unlike PSB for example who are always doing things together and never seem to be apart. I bet that Vince and Andy spent much more time together during their heyday, now their relationship is quite different. I still enjoy their music though, I think Tomorrows World is a fantastic album, I quite like Light at the end of the world too. Even a few songs on Loveboat are OK in my opinion.

I'm just happy that they are still around making music and I always look forward to a new Erasure album. The Christmas album might not please everybody but it is something they have wanted to do for years so good on them for doing it.

I do like Erasure - Pop! is a brilliant album - but they were always threatening to veer off into kitsch nonsense even during their peak. I just find it incredibly sad that a once great pop group is now reduced to singing Christmas carols for the socially disenfranchised. Vince Clarke wrote Only You ffs! PSB have done many dodgy things since their imperial epoch but they've never stopped as low as this.....

Yes, I do think that its great that they are still together, and that they are still friends, which they obviously still are. I just wish that they had higer ambitions of what they put out. But as I said I'm looking forward to the Christmas album, and a friend of mine has just preordered the special edition box.

I agree not the best cover, and i don't think that the boys have done many dodgy things in their
career.

I've actually played some Erasure albums last week. It must been years since I listened to those CDs. I digged out first Cowboy and then I Say a few days later. Two decent albums. The latter has the same problem as some of PSB's latter-day albums: too few catchy uptempo tracks. Next up will probably be Erasure. I like that one, but of course the album didn't need to be that long. Good to have the short versions on the Hits! DVD (I don't have the CD), although I prefer the epic 10-minute "Rock me gently".

The latter has the same problem as some of PSB's latter-day albums: too few catchy uptempo tracks. Next up will probably be Erasure. I like their self-titled album, but Cowboy (In My Arms aside) was twee and Loveboat, OPS, LATEOTW and half of Nightbird were disasters. Basically don't let Andy write lyrics or design/ I watched the show on youtube the other day of the gig at Karlssen from 1986. Even though they were both cocked up the show had a raw energy. A reminder that they were fantastic.

The album cover for Snow Globe is a bit funny but its kind of like the "I say x3 album cover with the guys appearing like a cartoon.

Its Erasure being whimsical as usual and nothing wrong with that.
