I just watched the video, it brought tears to my eyes. I didn't care so much for the first Years & Years-version. But this, with the thunder restored, is very moving and exhilarating at the same time.
I don't miss the boys in this performance. Them not being there feels like a cool understatement of the old days. And you can feel their presence very strongly anyway.

There is something wrong in my Internet or there is no info about the performance in the official site. PSB was not even mentioned. How strange!.

You need to check out Henk van Daam's website. All the info is there.

Plus one. I am actually very glad they did not appear. If they did, they would have endorsed the dedication of the song to the context Olly conveys it in. By not appearing, they have implicitly emphasized that the masterpiece is beyond that.

Slightly off topic - sorry, up front apologies if I cause terrible offence to anyone (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa), but just came across this:

I think the version and the staging was perfect! its an iconic PSB song and paid tribute by two legends. PSB must be so proud and thrilled
Is there a chance for a chart revival for this?

The first listen: The show is amazing. Performances are very good...but the version...it sounded it lacked the acidic bite and crystal-clear sharpness of the original. Not a big fan of it (at the moment).

It's a reasonable cover version, and it's for charity which is a bonus, but neither singer is exactly my cup of tea so I won't really be listening to it much. Will be interesting to see if there's any impact on the overall charts rather than just itunes.

I thought that was a tremendous performance. It's easy to be cynical about Elton, particularly, but in the bigger picture this represents the Abbafication of Pet Shop Boys where legends and aspiring stars re-imagine and restage the hits. The great thing is Neil and Chris, like Benny and Bjorn, remain the guiding hands.
Every artist tends to be remembered for their very biggest hits, no matter how many they have had. West End girls is such an acknowledged classic that it has a tendency, in the popular consciousness, to overshadow almost everything else. But It's a sin was effectively the gateway drug to the imperial phase, so if any one original composition of theirs can stand up to the mighty debut, it is unquestionably the thunderous Actually lead.
I think it's fantastic that another mega hit in their catalogue is now being granted the spotlight it utterly deserves. With Opportunities getting some publicity in the US and It's a sin going supersonic on this side of the Atlantic, I'm feeling all fuzzy inside. Time for a Bisodol.

It was a shame we didn't get to see the Pets but I feel then did the right thing by leaving this "project" more to Olly... and as a plus great that they have a production credit and clearly Pete G was running the music.
It's interesting that it was pre-recorded and shown as a film on the screen at the actual Brits...
Have to agree. As thrilling as it would be for us fans to see Neil and Chris revealed during the performance I don't expect you'd get much more mileage than that. Elton and Olly carried it all the way without the aid of a safety net.

Neil and Chris, like the rest of us, will eventually "pop" their clogs and shuffle off this mortal coil. However, surely we want the music to play forever - and if we want that to happen then nights like last night are precisely the way to go about ensuring true immortality.
The true artist lives forever through his music. It's quite something when their songs take on a life that no longer depends on their physical presence.

I really belive this version (the music part, I mean) could be the one they are going to play in concerts for the Dreamland Tour. I don't believe they are going to do another version for the tour, apart from this one.
