Why the negativity?
I see it as a wonderful item and an especially clever idea to show lyrical content on the surface of a music carrier.

A quick question from someone who has no idea how the Album Charts work!

Does this mean (as it’s sold out) that 4000 units will contribute to the opening weeks sales figures?

Yes. It’ll mean the difference between a number three and a number two.

Depends on how many of the 4000 that was bought from people outside the U.K.

I didn't know this. So you can't see anything without a strobe light? Is that really true tottenhammattspurs? I had always assumed they were cued to the 33rpm speed of the record! Nearly bought the Blur one last year but decided cost too much when I didn't know if the album would be any good. Different case with PSB, but....

....I missed out on this PSB one getting sold out faster than I expected! But if you can only see it under a flashing light I am a little disappointed and so less bothered. Still think the zoetrope vinyl concept is really cool though so all enjoy who got one.

How much was it by the way?

Have any other vinyl colours sold out on the official site yet, as I haven't pre-ordered that yet either.

There’s an app you can download that makes your camera phone light strobe at the correct Hrtz so that will work on it.

Not too bad then (in modern vinyl price terms). I thought it might be a £50 job. My slowness put paid to all this though!

Well of course I did end up buying this, after reflecting for about 15 minutes….. And I ordered the bundle with the signed card on day 1, but will not get the grey or clear version. Has there ever been this many versions? They are definitely aiming for a chart topper at least in the UK…..

They know they won't get that, with Taylor Swift releasing the week before. The reason for the multiple formats is simply to make some of the money back lost to streaming customers and the general downturn in music sales across the board. And fans and collectors love it, and those who don't won't buy anyway so it's a decent way to do it.

If they really were aiming for the number 1 album spot, is it feasible to delay the release by a couple of weeks or so, to give space to the wretched Taylor Swift..??

It depends on where you live though. For Europeans outside the UK the price more than doubles:
oakey wrote: Thu 22 Feb 2024, 9:16 pm Shipping from UK to Europe too expensive (over €14) plus prepare for 21% VAT as Blood Records does not participate in IOSS, plus custom fees that can ammount to €14.50 in my country. Sorry, but €80 or over for a single LP is too steep for me. eBay prices :(
