Another chronic case of Trump brainworms...

Let's hope the Dreamworld Live bluray gets released soon, with or without Go West. TBH I would not really care if GW would not be included. Of course, for completists it is nice to have the original full version of this release and it is a bit annoying that some copies were made available, but not feeding this Willis troll anymore (either with money or the power of control over this cover version) is more important in my view.

And PSB's GW is certainly overplayed, so I will not miss it. That said, they (PSB) really own their version of GW and made the song big anyway (before 1992, it was completely overshadowed by the other Village People hits. I frequented gay clubs at the time, and other VP songs were played regularly, but I was not familiar with GW until PSB covered it and it was included in Priscilla Queen of the desert).

I guess the Boys have plenty of reasons to 'take' Go west as their own: it was them who catapulted this song worldwide (at least to this Brazilian 10yo-boy back then).

There are some other songs which took me a while to understand that they weren't originals. These cover songs may not be so obvious to many of us, ordinary fans:

PS: what if the Boys put out another 'obscure' show with all covers entitled somehow like "Back to NOT mine" ?! Maybe they could thus demonstrate to some "who'd take a bullet for Narcissus" that there are no reasons to Go any more West than they've already gone.

I was at Hardwick Festival earlier this year and they didn’t perform Go West so this explains it.

I don’t think Go west was part of the festival setlist from the beginning. They didn’t perform it on the co-headlining Unity Tour either. x

I believe we've passed the 21 day deadline (from Oct. 22) for Willis to file an amended complaint. No sign of anything yet...

1. Karen Willis) is suing Neil Tennant, Chris Lowe, and Warner Music

She claims they infringed her copyright.

She is representing herself (called pro se), which often leads to procedural complications.

2. The case has mostly been about paperwork, not the actual claims

Before a court even looks at whether the claim is true, the plaintiff must:

• File the complaint correctly
• Serve the defendants correctly
• Establish that the court has jurisdiction
• State a legally valid claim

Most of the docket so far is about whether she did those things properly.

3. The defendants filed a Motion to Dismiss

Neil, Chris, and Warner Music asked the judge to throw the case out.

This is standard in cases like this.

4. A hearing was scheduled for 12 February 2026

This was supposed to be the day both sides would argue the Motion to Dismiss in front of the judge.

5. The judge cancelled the 12 February hearing

In plain English, the judge said:

“I’ve read everything. I don’t need a hearing. I’ll decide this myself.”

This is very normal. Judges often cancel hearings when they think oral argument won’t add anything.

6. The judge will now decide the Motion to Dismiss on paper

This means:

• No hearing
• No oral arguments
• The next thing that happens will be a written ruling

The ruling could:

• Dismiss the case entirely
• Dismiss parts of it
• Allow the case to continue
• Allow her to amend the complaint again

But until the judge issues that order, everything is in limbo.

7. Where things stand right now

• The case is not moving forward to evidence or trial.
• It is paused while the judge decides whether the lawsuit is even valid enough to continue.
• The 12 February date was simply the now‑cancelled hearing for that decision.

He dismissed the previous case so he's heard all this shit before. Judge Todd W. Robinson has had enough.

The allegations have made their excuses and left. x

Unfortunately, however this plays out the fact remains that Willis has still withdrawn the rights for them to use Go West in their work.
