Not a very good recording but if you had judge it on that clip, i'd have to say totally underwhelming. It reminded me of U2

Has Andy joined Depeche Mode?

While the song isn't overwhelming and has a Yazoo album track vibe to it, it's actually rather inoffensive than outright naff. Be interesting to listen the complete album mix. I'm amused however that from the fans perspective, that the slight change in direction is something to be criticised.

They're an odd bunch Erasure fans. They love the travesty that is Union Street but get daft when they exhibit a 'darker'/'mature' tone. While 'Save me' might not be that extactly, you can't accuse it of being cringeworthy/self parody.

btw, I quite like Vince's mix of Behind The Wheel.

Never a truer word spoken.

I think the key is to sound modern but different, yet still be recognisable. The ripples coming out of camp Erasure were indicating they will be doing that. I'd like to hear another Chorus or Wild! This Save Me is miles away from what I expected. The lyrics don't help at all. It's the same thing. They do need to get with the times but not change too much. I wouldn't like the album to sound like Save Me. It's supposed to have a Gospel choir but I can't hear any evidence of that.

I assume that Save Me isn't the first single.

Hopefully not. Although their first single will do well whatever it is imo because of the excitement of a new release.

Here it is again from Thetford Forest last night. This is a better version but the lyrics (or lack of them) are the biggest spoiler of the song.

Hopefully it's still a work-in-progress.

However if that's the highlight of the album, not even Frankmusik behind the desk will save it from the dumper...

I take it Andy is scheduling his Popstar to Operastar rehearsals around the mini-tour.
It's his turn tomorrow!

Quite a catchy tune. I think it has potential.

Did he do well? Hope he did because it was obvious he was panicking about performing.

He sang the 'Just One Cornetto' song like a slightly stiff waxwork but it went okay. I think the Toploader bloke will get booted off this week because the street team are bound to have their fingers poised above their redial buttons.....

Tiska (sorry, AFC10) has probably threatened everyone down his street to vote, telling them the price of a phone call is the same s the price of a Mars Bar and they can miss out for just one day.

Apart from offering to give certain people a lift all over, he is now slagging everyone off who dares criticise 'Save Me.' He's heard it three times and it's a fantastic single. Anyone who doesn't like it, is apparently ''tone deaf.''

Has anyone been to any of the Forest shows yet? Andy said the stage would be a Castle theme. Does it look good?

Andy Bell looked a little bit like a newly hatched baby bird

Andy Bell's Botox makes him look like a really early Sega avatar of you. No offence to you - more about him & bad graphics

. turns out Andy Bell is some pleb offa a reality TV thing, from what I gather he's probably "going" from whatever show it is tonight

Oh Andy Bell. Not dissing him. I said he was good, but I thought his eyes were gonna fall out

Ah Andy Bell on Popstar to Operastar - love that man so much!

Andy Bell out of Erasure looks like a blond Frank Sidebottom now

Just turned on telly. Has Andy Bell got some sort of syndrome? His face is very unusual.

wants everyone to vote for Andy Bell on Popstar to Opera Star! He was fab!

Andy Bell looks a lot like silly putty come to life these days.

And I don't even know who Andy Bell is :S

Didn't like Andy Bell's song / performance on Opera, think he will leave tonight's show..

I never thought I'd utter these words -Clare from Steps was better than Jocelyn Brown, Andy Bell & dude from Toploader

PSTOS is an insult to humanity. Has Andy Bell had a bad facelft?

Either you're older than you look, love, or else Andy Bell should be in prison (and not just for the plastic.)
