Well there it is then, number 49 must mean that Erasure are rubbish and the album is crap and PSB the best and Electric is the best..... Sorry but what difference does it make? And who cares? If comparing the two on chart places is all that makes people happy then fine but it means absolutely nothing. Especially as Erasure don't even have any promotion anymore. Or am I wrong?
This stinks of more desperation from fans about absolutely nothing. But like I said, if it makes you happy........

Am I? I think we both know the answer to that one.
There seems to be some obsession with people regarding Erasure. Quite strange really and I just don't get it. But like I have said before some people do it as some kind of PSB feel good factor, which quite honestly is just pointless and proves nothing about anything.
One thing for sure is that the Erasure album sold at least 3,000 copies as the 3 cd version sold out so they will be pretty happy I'd say, just like the fanbase are. I'd say that's a pretty good thing, or am I wrong?

Without promotion it doesn't really make a difference but I think they should have chosen Make It Wonderful as the lead single ahead of the album and then released a Christmas song closer to Christmas. I really like the video for Gaudete but as a single it doesn't do much for me. There are some really good songs on the album.

I can't see why She Won't Be Home and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen were not on the main album but relegated to the limits edition cd2. It's not like the main album was full to busting with Xmas songs as it is.

I am still waiting to hear the new versions. The original versions on Crackers International are really good IMO.

The originals are better. By a long shot. While I'm here, can someone explain the point of CD3?

Erasure have generously rewarded the fans with a 'countdown to Christmas giveaway. Here are the offering so far

A CD3 was a gimmick back in the 80s. CD3s were originally meant to replace 7" and 10" records while 5" CDs would replace LPs and 12"s. The maximum playing time of a CD3 is about 20 minutes, making them perfect for the pre-1990s single/EP format.
CD3s never caught on as one needed an adapter to play them on non-drawer players. I must admit I miss creative physical formats.

Ah. By cd3 I meant cd number three in a 3cd package. Cd3 in this case is a fake radio show where they talk bollox and play tracks from the album that you've already bought.
It's awful. It's Partridgesque in its cringe ness.

They're just a couple of stirring, tear-inducing, sadness-tinged, f*** irresistible love songs.'

It is a great track in fairness.

I thought it was quite good actually, basically its like an interview cd about the album talking about when and why they wrote the songs and stuff like that, I enjoyed it anyway.
