What do the black South Africans think about the Dutch getting to the final? It's a bit of a slap in the face to *their* sport on home soil, isn't it? Just as well that the De Boer twins have retired.

David Beckham had the Uruguayan keeper as the best of the tournament. Thats at least 3 shocking saves i can remember. Two costing goals. Don't really want to jinx him but i think Neuer has been the best goalie.

It says a lot about modern football that the third-place play-off was probably the best game of the tournament.

Probably proves that everyone is dead set on not getting beat, rather than trying to win. Brilliant game tonight. They both just went for it.

Not sure why referee's are not red carding those challenges over the top ob the ball. They are horrible. You could even see how bad it was in real time on the t.v.

The fact is the best team over the last few years are going to win the World Cup tomorrow, and deservedly so. Other teams would have been better off just going for it, and going out with a bang rather than a whimper. Look at how pathetic England were against Algeria. If they score in that game they're through as group winners, and arguably in the semi-finals.

I honestly think that FIFA should look into making football a ten-man game to open some space up on the pitch because football as a spectacle is dying.

I don't think it would have made much difference if England had topped their group because they probably wouldn't have beaten Ghana anyway. Ghana were one of the few high points of a pretty drab competition and I loved watching them.

I still think the ball played its part, though. Obviously teams are manipulating it better now as the class of player is higher and have had time to get used to it but early on it was playing havoc and the standard of play was woeful at times.
