Fundamental Advance Promo

So why would an Advance copy be sent to Pop Justice so early if it is not being released until April?

I would think that the media outlets (magazines, websites) would get their press releases early february so they can be reviewed and written up in time for the April Issues that come out in Mid March?

Could it be that we are getting an earlier release date?

I would assume that there may be a few promos on ebay soon?

Could it be also that the PSB's are hunting for a US Record Label so there may be a few promos out here in the U.S.?

I am starting to wonder if it will be out early. That's an official promo copy they have got. Normally those would only be out about 7 or 8 weeks before release.
Maybe we are going to get a late Feb release of Minimal and early March release of Fundamental??

The "boys" seem quite chummy with Peter Robinson who runs PJ.

I think it's more the other way around. Just think of Miranda Sawyer and her relationship with New Order.

I think that they're just trying to create as much advance buzz as possible. April isn't really that far away. Hollywood films start creating buzz 9 months out these days. Why else release an instrumental promo 12" of an album track and put it out 4 months early?

Seems like a very bold move, to release the full album promo four months prior to the official release just to create a buzz. The mp3:s will be out in January, at the very latest.

Yeah, I think it's all a matter of a promotion tecnique to create expectations but bit by bit.

Hmmmm 6th March eh - that's much earlier than we were expecting.

Don't forget that the monthly mags have looooong lead-in times, sometimes up to 12 weeks, so seeing promos now for an April release isn't a complete surprise.

I wonder who will be the first to comment on how good the cover looks

Didn't "Home & Dry" come out in March '02 and "Release" was in April '02? If so, I'm assuming they will do a promo tour (like the Uni Tour) in February '06 (like they did in Feb. '02)? Or all this just too predictable?

I am starting to think that Parlophone have brought its release forward. March is an easier time to get media coverage as there tend to be less big album releases then.

Also, on April 17th The Streets are due to release their new album which will recieve way more attention than PSB and therefore its not a great day for them to relase it, really. There are also a number of other 'Big' album releases scheduled for April/ May- Keane, Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc etc

Given that the promo's are out, it would make sense if they have brought the album's release forward. It would mean that 'Minimal' would need to go to radio stations in the next week or two though...
