not sure if this has been mentioned
in the current issue of mixmag (probably a month old by the time it gets to australia!) there is an article about Madonna... of all people!
Anyway... Neil gets his face in it.... apparently he exposed her in the uk via smash hits or something

I haven't seen the Mix Mag article, but I know Neil put Madonna on the cover of Star Hits in the USA (which he edited for a while). It would have been late 1983-ish.
I think the Pets have also said that they went to see Madonna when she played her first ever UK date at the Camden Palace, so it seems distinctly possible that Neil would have made sure she was featured in Smash Hits too.

So we've had to put up with 23 years of her wailing on and on and its all Neil's fault.
He should be severely punished!
