Why the negativity towards the odd PSB album or 2?

Some hates Bilingual and a negative thread toward Nightlife and few on Release and countless on Disco 2, we gotta have disco 2.
Anyway, is it because when PSB do something 'different' there would be heads turning?
Like Bilingual, is it because PSb leans more towards Latino/ Russain flavour with a little disco or Nightlife went away from PSb's style of electronic music that we think its weird or something?
Or Release went ballad-rock that we think differently towards PSB.
Or disco 2, well I see you point

. But that is more marketed for DJ to sell their mixes.
So what do you expect from the PSB? Another Please/ Actually or Introspective? Maybe Behaviour 2. PSB are really good because they go away from that nonsense. What done is done and if they repeat their success, you can kiss their careers goodbye. I like what PSB have done no matter what they do, it keeps us on our toes and makes us wanting for more, like Fundamental, what type of album is it? You never know. The PSB are unpredictable.

I agree, you can't keep releasing the same old tat over and over again otherwise there'd be no fanbase

But when you have fans all saying the same thing about particular albums / tracks, who is right? It's us that buy this stuff.
Bilingual suxx.

Excellent topic! I have said on another thread that I'm not keen on disco2 - this might be that Danny Rampling didn't do a very good job but the remixes (apart from liberation) he had at his disposal he should have done a better job, I am sure that there are many people reading this who could have done a better job. Right now I am listening to Cicero, Future Boy, which is pretty good. To use StevePSB's point - Yes we all buy this stuff and everyone has a right to air their views BUT we must respect what Neil and Chris release and let's be honest there hasn't been that many turkeys over the last 20 years.

The thing they have always done and will always do is provoke opinion and discussion. No one will like every track / album / remix and no one can disagree with anyone else's personal opinion - because it's exactly that.
We're lucky to have a community surrounding such a band and it's to their great credit that 20 years on so many people are still talking about them as we do.

Plus, we are here as FANS OF PSB's, we like them for what? Their music? their looks

? Sp, I don't get the negativity here. Like we hate disco 2 but there are more disco 2 threads out there, so we secretly love it.

.
Way I see it if you dont like an album, you are not really a fan. A dedicated fan understands the direction of a PSB album. Not getting stalled and stuck in the past.
What do you expect?

I don't think its a matter of keeping a fanbase. When you change each album and try new things it keeps you on the cutting edge of music. The problem with that is most people are not there so its not as easily accepted. It may not always be in the direction of the popular trends but if we didn't have some people doing that we would be listening to people hit drums with bones.

I like a handful of tracks on Bilingual. Maybe 5, but as an album I think it's very weak and often cringeworthy. Not something a classic album should be IMHO and therefore I play it only very rarely.

I see, like the survivor makes me cry or puke, or both

. And track 11 is awful, the children kinda made it lame. but i do like tracks like metamorphosis and Electricity and PSB hip-hop or rap style is so not like them making it different. Single is annoying but I think thats all I find wrong.

Aren't you answering your own question then, alf? You don't like The survivors or To step aside, I hate Metamorphosis; you say potato and I say potato. It's all about opinions: the boy done good, he'll be disappointed with that, yada yada yada.....

Did I asked a question? I was metephorically asking question pertaining to the topic. I never directly asked a question so I can answer it myself.

Were you being rhetorical then?
I don't think they've been very unpredictable anyway - they've always made pop songs, whether that was using Spanish rhythms, guitars or pint-sized Antipodean gay icons. Some are just more successful than others.
