So the time comes, several months prior to it's release and the time when I will first hear it, to review Fundamental. I know there has been a lot of speculation. The speculation stops here! Really. The packaging of the album is lavish and feral with a caliphate element. That good. But I guess we're all here for the music, right?
God Willing
It's an introduction. It introduces. It's a veritable handshake of an entry point into the album that, not only establishes, but also prefaces what is to come.
Minimal
We've all been speculating about what this song will be like. I can reveal exclusively that it sounds like the first single from this album. Yes, it's that good. Neil's oxygenated vocals meet Chris's hydrogenated keyboards in a way that, with the clever teasing of Trever Horn's production, can only be described as 'water'.
The Sodom and Gomorrah Show
This track is, in what appears to be a whole album concept, another track from Fundamental. "Sun, sex, sin, divine intervention, death and destruction" have all been mentioned in relation to this track and I would like to add the word "sophism". There... I said it.

Yes I am, but enough about my personal life....
Psychological
We've all heard the instrumental, remixed, demo, limited, white label, collectors’ edition. Is it real? Is it a plot by the Military Industrial Complex? Has anyone else noticed that you can sing "Twenty three" along to this? You know what I'm saying.
I made my excuses and left
This reminds me of the time I woke up on the floor of my local AA group meeting after a particularly long bender. But I digress.
Integral
Is this track really integral? Well, it could be described as "necessary". Certainly one has to sit through it to get to the next track. It's not a big leap from integral to fundamental, is it? What are the Boys trying to tell us? Trevor Horn shimmers throughout.
Numb
Like eating a chocolate orange while descending a flight of stairs. This song reminds me of that feeling you get when you wake up in a different part of town to where you fell asleep and you're not on the 85 bus home. This song is track 8.
Luna Park
Need I say more? Someone's hungry and is going to eat all the little people.
Casanova in Hell
Yes. No. Maybe.
Twentieth Century
The Twentieth Century (20th Century for short) was the hundred years that proceeded the year 2000. it lasted for a tenth of a millennium and lots of things happened during it, such as the release of the Back To The Future Trilogy. A big, big subject.
Indefinite leave to remain
And so our journey ends, appropriately enough, with the last track on the album. The final song, if you will. The end. Trevor Horn's production makes like the Mr Muscle man scrubbing the skirting board. On acid.
So, to summarize:
Fundamental is like a cockfight between a turkey on heat and an egg with attitude. Who wins? You decide.
