Fundamental: Australian Release Details

According to the EMI Australia website ( www.musichead.com.au ) Fundamental is due to be released here on 20 May. Unfortunately no details yet of which formats will be available. I'm with Stupid is also due to go to radio/TV on 3 April, but no mention made of whether the single will actually be released commercially. They did not release any singles locally from Release so I suspect this may be the case again, unfortunately :(

Thanks for this info. Interesting blurb on the EMI Australia website here:

http://www.musichead.com.au/site/news.a ... hop%20boys

It claims that Fundamental is "already hailed as their best ever studio album", together with glowing quotes from NME, The Observer and Q. I wonder if these are from actual reviews or cobbled together from news titbits?

It has a release date here in NZ of May 22 as well. There will be no singles either.

Sadly for the retailers I'll be ordering mine on line

assume the singles only be available in AU/NZ as imports from Europe.

Some good news about I'm with stupid, it looks like it's definitely getting an AUS release. Both Sanity and HMV, the two biggest music retailers here, now have it listed in their coming soon sections for release on 13th May. Both CD single and DVD single formats are being released. Oddly though, neither store has a listing yet for Fundamental, although I did find an online store called CD-WOW that has both Fundamental & Fundamentalism listed for a May 22 release.

I'm still waiting to see or hear I'm with stupid on TV/Radio. I've been channel surfing the cable music stations a bit, but so far nothing. I fully expect to see it listed on ABC Rage this Friday night. Any other aussies seen or heard any publicity for Fundamental/I'm with stupid?

Nothing at all. I was expecting to see it on Rage last Friday but no.

I hope you are right with your info about a local I'm with stupid release.

Actually,

The DVD single is a featured DVD release on EMI Australia's website

http://www.musichead.com.au/site/ (look towards the bottom of the page) or

Ooo, and they are a featured artist

I have never, ever seen them as a featured artist on EMI Aust's website.

Fan-bloodly-tastic! So it's definitely official. I hadn't checked the EMI site for awhile, so thanks for that Paulo. Now if only the damn thing could get some airplay it might actually chart!

So maybe EMI AUS are actually taking this release seriously for a change! Odd thing though is that they've added I'm with stupid to the discography section, but not Fundamental.

Good news - generally OZ singles are released here but I still expect to import the whole lot. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

no way Debussy ;). It's not common anymore these days! At least for PSB, EMI AU only would sell import CDs from Europe!
