The thing is I've been taking a look at my Collins Dictionary and I've seen different meanings for this word and some of them are positive and others are negative.

As West End girls is in the 50 Essential Tunes To Download this month it's hardly likely to be negative is it?

I never said you did. It just struck me as odd, yet possibly telling, that you would insert this example into your explanation of the colloquialism.
Perhaps, we should " pull the plug " on this matter before it becomes part of your mythology - like the " sealed copy " charge with which you're already identified.

To un-digress: The Here (PSB new extended Mix)* which I'm sure is the reference Q meant* is a GREAT track.
