Popjustice lied.

First off I have to say as an ardent PSB fan, I was very disappointed on listening to this new record. It doesn't live up to the hype, frankly, so curb your enthusiasm a bit before listening. I have warmed to it a bit after more listens, but it still doesn't live up to what it could have been.

TOO MANY BALLADS

PSYCHOLOGICAL
You've probably heard the instrumental. It's ok, but should've been a b-side.

THE S&G SHOW
Is a very camp, very average PSB tune - kind of New York City Boy energy...gay gay gay. Too weird to be a single.

I MADE MY EXCUSES AND LEFT
Opens with a great craig-armstrong-ish instrumental break, but goes nowhere.

MINIMAL
finally - four tracks in, we get a good song. Should've been the first single. Catchy, clever (the use of a sample where the word is pronounced 'mini-MALL' is genius). Ends with a great bit of New Order guitar

NUMB
What were they THINKING???? This is a killer ballad that was just ready-made for a boyband, or at least for a duet - not for Neil, bless him, who we love, but just can't carry a song like this. Should've roped someone in to duet.

GOD WILLING
Instrumental 1minute thing. S'alright.

LUNA PARK
Ballad number three. Dreadful.

I'M WITH STUPID

CASANOVA IN HELL
Ballad number four. Some amusing lyrics, but generally dull. Best of the ballads though.

20th CENTURY HERO
A quite-good slowish electro track, could've been from Behaviour

INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN
Ballad number FIVE. For God's sake!

INTEGRAL
The standout song on the album. Fantastic, it's an It's A Sin stomper and has to be a single.

Fuc*in hell, even Sherlock Holmes wouldn't have to spend too long fathoming out that you have come on here (probably as an Erasure fan) taken a few idea's from another review and posted it as your own. Nice try though.

Since when have big guitar chords been a very average PSB tune? Lol

This bit gave it away as fake and copying bits from other reviews to me.

That and the 'New Order guitar' on M-I-N-I-M-A-L.

The end of Minimal does finish like a New Order tune, i though it finished like Regret.

Nevermind the reviews, i still have mega high expectations for Fundamental as I ADORE PSB ballads + we get an extra dance disc.

Absolutely agree with you. I love 'Love is a catastrophe' so don't think I'd be disappointed with a ballad-album

It's hardly a review. It's also a pity that the username is taken from an unfunny and cancelled BBC3 programme.
