If Russell T(ennant?) Davies can use Doctor Who as a vehicle to showcase all that is Great and Good about contemporary British culture, and give the BBC something that they are more confident about marketing than any other show, then he can make sure that PSB feature in the next series. After all, the feature-movie presentation of the current series is reminiscent of PSB videos in the Various period.

I can picture David Tennant walking in to a 30th century recording studio where Neil is trying to get some alien lifeform to sing 'Because you dance to disco and you don't like rock' whilst Chris sleeps ('he'll probably wake up in 20 years'). There would then be lots of in-jokes about Neil's surname and Captain Jack's huge gay following, with the Nightlife wigs being visible in the corner as a testament to former horrors.

By the way, is the Fundamental album cover intended to depict Neil and Chris in their Waiting for Godot (the musical) roles? I hope more happens on the album than in Beckett's play.

If this guy knew his Doctor Who and Russ T. Davies he's know that Neil Tennant already turned up in a Doctor Who novel called 'Damaged Goods'.

But there's not much great and good about british contemporay culture, and if there is, it's certainly not to be found in Doctor Who, unless aliens, flying pigs and Daleks constitute the cream of British culture.

I think Release was probably the boys 'Godot' album. Fundamental will be their 'Endgame', (a much better play in my opinion.)
