Would you rather 'I'm With Stupid' entered the UK chart in the Top 5, before falling to 15-35 out of the Top 40, OR, it enters betwen 7-9 but hangs around in the chart a bit longer, for example: 7-13-15-18-25-32 out of Top 40?
Personally, I think 'Fundamental' would do better if the single was a Top 10 that hung around a bit rather than an instant Top 5 that drops like a stone.
Let's just hope it's at least a Top tenner!

I'm not obsessed with chart positions itself, but there are so many crap songs in charts and 'I'm with stupid' is too good to be among this crap so I hope it'll be #1. And I hope 'I'm with stupid' will be high-praised and Neil and Chris and Trevor's efforts will be appreciated as they deserve it - so I hope it'll be at least Top 5.
Also here in Russia the chart position of the song in the UK influences on it's rotation on local MTV and other musical channels and radio as well and the rotation of the song influences on whether the local promoters would like to arrange gigs of the artist here. So that's why I hope the chart position for 'I'm with stupid' will be not less than top 5.
Though for the PSBs themselves maybe it'll be much better and more profitable if the song will hang around in the chart for weeks and weeks...

I think the days of UK number 1s are well over for PSB.
Looking at the other singles released that week I think they may be heading for the 3rd highest new entry, behind LL Cool J ft Jennifer Lopez (Funky Cold Medina rip off) and, erm

UK's Eurovision entry 'Teenage Life' by Daz Simpson, a truly awful, very definition of "novelty record", which is getting very little radio play but lots of video airtime on the music channels. It's also got "CHAV" written all over it, so expect that to, perhaps, crash land at the summit.

Hope not. I can't imagine how possibly people can spend money on the crap which is now in the charts...I'm with stupid is undeniably much much much more better!!!
