Just back from Potemkin

Just arrived home from the Potemkin gig. From where I was, the show seemed to go down a treat. Differences from the London gig were that Tim Healy (North East actor) gave a brief talk prior to the show which was basically an overview of and background to the movie. Also, there was live trumpet player which I don't think they had in London.
The location of the gig was great, in the shipyard surrounded by huge cranes and a large warship. There was a big downpour earlier in the evening, but the show itself went ahead with clear skies. I was towards the front, but looking behind me, the venue seemed to be packed.

Worth the wait ...
Thanx for the notice!
If I remember right they had a trumpet player in
London and Berlin (and assumedly at all other BP
gigs) also. Or was it a trombone?

Just back as well!
My neck will be sore from staring at that screen for so long

but the gig was excellent, the weather absolutely fantastic (only a bit cold!) so glad I brought my fluffy mittens!
Sadly, my SLR camera got confiscated by some very confused punters, but I had my small one to shoot pics and videos with so not all was lost

And did they play something from the new album
also?
If I remember right it was planned show s. th. of
the upcoming album, too.

No. It would have been a nice surprise, but it wasn't really appropritatefor "new" songs, with the setting and all.
They did do an encore though, 'No Time For Tears' and by that time the "curtain" had been pulled down and we had a full view of the orchestra, Neil, and Chris sitting behind his keyboard.
And can I just say Neil's voice was BRILLIANT. I've heard some recent performances where his voice is far from superb, but this was just excellent

Just Back going to Bed as I type ...what did Neil say about I.D cards before the Encore..

There was some minor technical hitch before the encore of No Time For Tears, an Neil said something like "Seeing as we have some time, can I just say no to ID cards"
