Is a load of w*** and fake. Definitely something I wouldn't want in my collection...

the strange thing is that the "12/50" disc number is PRINTED on the CD...

I have a friend who has that print machine. It really looks real.

By the way, look at the press release: if you don't want to explain, write in greek!

Let me explain this that way:

It's official in Greece, cause those CD-Rs perhaps are printed with permission of EMI Greece, BUT without permission of Parlophone/EMI EU

...and for the protocoll:

This version on it, is the version 'recorded from the 12" promo vinyl'. It has crackles and clicks on it!!!

This kind of thing wouldn't be completely without precedent. I think EMI Greece did something similar with a rare (and really good actually) remix of Home And Dry... it was in similar limited quantities.

No, they didn't.

I don't believe the Greek HAD promo is authentic either, otherwise I would have bought it by now

I have the Greek promo, and it does look very much like the real article. I'm pretty sure (but don't shoot me down if I'm wrong - Neil & Chris were quoted as saying a remix was done which was more "electroclash" and it was only released by EMI in greece to Journalists at the release promotion event. I held off for a while buying the disc, but as soon as I saw this reference I had to get it.

I'm happy money wasn't the main problem!

its just silly that people buy this hit but if they are going to continue to buy it people are going to make them !

Why? They don't make any money from promo sales. The entire promo shtick is just a scam to line the pockets of middlemen. There's no valid reason whatsoever not to make this stuff commercially available and if they're worried about sales justifying the expense the logical thing to do is either:

• Spread the tracks over the various international releases (thus guaranteeing larger overall sales as the fanbase tracks them all down).

• Issue annual fan club CDs featuring all the promo mixes (the cost to print these would easily be offset by charging $20 a pop or similar).

I think you have a blummin good valid point there Patrick.

I think the fan club should do more. Even if it's along the lines of digital downloads. There are always the real sharks who will pray on unsuspecting fans - Ebay at the moment has loads of really bad bootlegs which are obviously just compilations of quite easily downloadable tracks and people buy them.

I was really excited when the tracks from Closer to heaven appeared on the official site but this seems to have stopped now.

I'm sure fans wouldn't mind paying 70por so for unreleased tracks.

No complaints here. I imagine there would be loads of record company politics in play though, so will it ever happen?? I'm not sure.
