Ahhh, This was almost enough to make me choke on my diet coke.

I tried ripping my I'm with stupid cd single with Nero so I could make a compilation cd for the car. Nero asked if I wanted to automatically obtain the track names from the internet. Here is what it came back with. I think I need to lie down.

This might sort itself out actually. This information comes from one of the main CDDB databases over the internet and not from the CD itself. So, there COULD BE another identical CDDB number, matching I'm with stupid single. You should be able to manually correct this information yourself though..at least you can with iTunes.

On that note, is anybody having problems ripping their commerically released CDs to their hard drive? I've gotten one email from a fan saying he can't do it. I know they copy protected the promos but wouldn't expect they would do it with the commercially released version.

I wouldn't have either, but is probably Parlophone. But to me it is defeatest, those that want to rip will and spread it - so all it does is encourage copying IMHO and give those that want to a challenge. Is better to have it unprotected and easy to buy. Ie have Woolworths present the files with the actual name, not all labelled I'm with stupid.

With the right software, nothing is protected and ruins enjoyment for the legal user.

Yup...good dig! I'm not impartial on this matter, actually. Its fine to copy protect promos but its not fine to copy protect commercially released CDs. In this day in age, most of us rip everything to our computer, put the CD in a box and listen to it either from our computer or MP3 players. Anyway, it seems that this problem is relgated to Macs only, running the latest version of OS X....but it seems to be ALL Macs on OS X. Any other MAC OS X users that can offer their experience would be helpful.

Yeah Bill, no problems for me using WinXP.

No problems uploading on to my Mac using itunes 6 and OS X (10.4.6)

CDDB got it right too.

ripped fine on my mac using iTunes and OS X ( 10.3.9 )

Ripped fine on my windows xp as well
