FUTURE SINGLES ? NEW THEORY >>>

Okay, so everyone has got their own views on 'what' 'when' & 'how many' future singles off Fundamental will be released.

But none of you seem to have picked up on 2 things that may well 'shape' the singles destiny!

1. WORLD TOUR 2007
The Pet Shop Boys have NEVER toured without releasing a single either just prior, or during the tour. It helps publicise the tour itself, and also sales of the single are helped by fans floating on the 'euphoria' of the tour.
So if the Boys are to tour the WORLD in 2007, then surely there will be a single ?
Now that would lead me to think that they may well have planned, either a 'one-off' new single like 'Somewhere,' or which is more likely a 'totally remixed' version of a song off Fundamental.

My Guess is they will release NUMB as the 3rd single - with a 'slight' remix like 'jealousy' was and a 'brutal' edit to make it 'tighter.'
Then I see them possibly choosing INTEGRAL as a 4th early next year, possibly as early as January to hit the Top 10. But I think it will be completely reworked into a new version to increase sales. After alot of people raving about the track, Neil & Chris may
'go with it' and release it, and of course there is another reason ...

2. ID CARDS - INTRODUCTION
I'm not up to speed with the current situation with the ID Card debate, but I'm sure it will become more prevalent both in the News & the Public Eye NEXT YEAR - in fact it could even be the issue that 'brings down' Tony Blair - so what better time to release it !

3. FUGITIVE
Why are some fans thinking that this could possibly be a future sinlge release ?
Singles are released for one reason only - TO SELL ALBUMS. Fugitive is taken from a Limited Edition which will no longer be on sale, if not already. Fugitive I'm afriad is another example of an awesome track that Neil & Chris obviously have a conflict about.
I think you can safely say that there will have been one of them against the song as a 'commercial' release, and that's why you find it on 'ISM' - also it simply is too 'clubby' I feel for Neil & Chris to want to release. I think the days of 'clubby' singles are over. M-I-N-I-M-A-L is more the sound that you will hear from now on - which is NOT a bad thing as it is a GREAT song.

To summarize, NUMB WILL BE 3RD SINGLE - I GUARANTEE IT - ANYONE WANT TO BET ?

...and 4 singles is NOT out of the question.

INTEGRAL is the BEST !

I was under impression Numb had all but been announced on the site as the 3rd single!

Because artist now these days release a second version of their album later on (Look at Shakira (In more than 1 way  )) So they could re-release fundamental and include a single edit of Fugitive. NOW that's something I can see happening as let's say "Fundamental - The tour edition" OSLT

No Chance.

Fugitive will NOT be a single.

It's a great song, but not single material for Pet Shop Boys in 2006.
The 'market' for a song like this & it's subject matter is just too narrow.

I wouldn't call Minimal un-clubby. Though it'll need a stonking PSB Maxi (or Mini?) Mix, not that Tiga shite.

Fugitive not as a single because it should promote the album?

mmm, what about "Absolutely Fabulous"?
A double A-side is also possible, with two video clips..

but surely Ab Fab was the flagship single for the magnificent Disco 2?

I think "Numb" is the leading contender. "S&GS" would be good from a fan perspective, but it seems like Parlophone isn't too keen on that idea. I agree that "Fugitive" is out of the question, which is too bad since it's the best and most daring song between the two discs.

Don't think we'll be getting four singles or that touring has much effect on singles calculations. One possibility, though, is that there might be different singles released (via iTunes only) in the U.S. "Integral" might be a prospect there -- or even "Sodom and Gomorroah."

Numb should be the third single!

If they do release 4 singles, then maybe Integral/The Sodom and Gomorrah Show double A-Side with a single mix for Integral and an edit for ...Show.

Fugitive is a terrible idea for a single, however having the original version for a B-Side would be a good idea

if they do numb with a slight remix of it as dibdav said I hope they add that nice sounding beautiful nylon string guitar they had in the live version.and maybe cut back on the low funeral procession sounding pad on the verse parts.

I think that was really the only problem I have with that song.I would make it more exotic sounding.
