It's fun as hell....the way Neil sings "he spoke so POLITELY", "...approachable GRIN", etc...
The musical style reminds me of the Smiths, which is obviously a very good thing. One of my fav tracks off Release

what, I wonder, makes a song homosexual? Does it love only songs that are similar to it?
And, what, I wonder, does it mean to say that something is 'too' homosexual? Surely the song is either homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual or undecided...

The problem with TNIFIL is not its homosexual content. The problem with this song is its embarassingly bad lyrics, bland melody, and terrible production. It's a low-point in their carreer only comparable to "If love were all" and "Saturday night forever".

I tend to agree - I think "The Sound of the Atom..." is sounding better after all these years LOL

I like it since the first listen.

It's lucky I'm not too narrow-minded to listen to music that's "too heterosexual" or I'd have a VERY small CD collection.

I wish they would do more story songs like this(which is why I like casanova in hell) its nice and laid back and more stripped down than most ballads they do which is nice in this case.
I thought it was a great idea to do the song about eminem from a lyrical standpoint as it makes the song automatically kind of exciting and controversial.

what if Springsteen wrote the exact song, Shelton, would it still sound homosexual to you?
I wonder how much of the camp factor alotted to PSB music is due to the fact that Neil came out. maybe my 'gaydar' doesn't work, but most of their songs just sound like songs to me, not 'camp' or 'gay'. does "it always comes as a surprise" sound gay to you, Shelton? see, it's just a very beautiful love song to me. I'd sing (at least, try to) it to someone I'd really fell for.
btw, I've always loved The sound of the atom splitting. it was only after I came here that I realized so many people hated it! wierd.

Hey Steve,
According to our new friend's last posts, I can say he's not familiar with this subject.
Have you seen the "Before penis sleeve" thread yet?

It's quite irritating, actually, to see PSB fans on this board, who complain that PSB make songs that are too homosexual. If you can't deal with homosexuality, choose a different artist to be fan of.

I think it's much better than its reputation, but not a highlight by any means.

It's just because they are all closet queens.
C'mon people gay sex is far superior to straight sex
Dear Neil, please ENLIGHT THEM
