Many of you wil know (or have) that old and excellent compilations of rare vinyl and unreleased mixes named "Aurally" (I think there is a Volume1, 2 and double 3 right?).
The questios is: what do you think? the mixes there are taken (and perfectly remastered) from vinyl sources or just taken from master recordings?
The sound is really impeccable and I always have the doubt about this...

I don't know how they could have gotten access to the original master recordings, unless they are master thieves, the discs were released secretly by PSB themselves, or someone in EMI is bootlegging their recordings... none of which seems likely.
The only track on them that isn't perfectly mastered is "I Get Excited (Sarm West Remix)", which was apparently sourced from one of the bootleg tapes that exist. And the only truly "unreleased" remix is "Liberation (Deep Vocal Mix)", as the others were released on promos or other items.

The quality is near perfect and the best out there for what is not already released on reissue.
MP3 has killed off any opiotn of an aurally 4.
Worth hunting down.
Liberation (Deep Vocal Mix) probably came from a DAT refernece, but who knows besides the people who put it together.
Aurally 3 was also put together by a different person.
Speculation is of course a part of the fun.
