Which will be next. BeSides (Second B-Sides album) or Disco 4 ?

BeSides, I guess. Disco 3 is too recent.

Oh, b-sides methinks. Though I'm not sure I'd be too keen on it tbh. :? Let it be said, I don't think *anything* can beat Alternative, evah!

Think I might prefer a Disco 4 (as long as it's *not* like Disco 2) or a brand new album (mini-album?) or summat! Yes, yes I know. Too soon etc.

I think the "Further Listening" series put an end to any future b-sides collection, and I'm sure Neil said something to that effect when asked a question about it when the official site still had it's questions section.

I hope they don't do another Disco album. Disco 3 was alright, but if they do another similar project, I hope they can think of a better album title.

Bookshopboy is right: the Further Listening series makes future B-sides compilations rather useless.

It's also the first project due after Concrete, I think: re-releasing Nightlife and Release as 2cd issues. There was also talk about releasing the Discovery tour on DVD...

I see no potential for Disco 4, for the simple reason that many of the Fundamental tracks were already remixed! Psychological 2 times, Sodom 2 times, Minimal a dozen times, Stupid several times... - The only un-remixed song that's suitable to be remixed is Integral.

I think PSB should consider to release one or two fanclub cd's, with unreleased material and versions of tracks. They have quite some tracks on the shelves, some demo's for other artists perhaps (All Or Nothing, Love Life etc). They have too much material left for the bonus discs of Nightlife and Release Further Listening...

No more Disco crap. I would rather a new ep or something.

Very well put!
How about the idea of "Showtunes" seeing the light of day ?
I would love to hear their version of "Climb every mountain".
The reason why i asked this question earlier was the fact i am listening to Disco 2 as i type and i remember thinking at the time of release of Disco 2 how i hate the word Megamix. It is basically a Megamix. Not the PSB style.
However now, the songs do gel together quite well especially Absolutely Fabulous>Yesterday, when i was mad (Coconut 1 mix)>Yesterday, when i was mad (Jam & Spoon mix).
As for Alternative, a great collection of songs. It's always nice to have songs of this quality in one place.

I can't see PSBs releasing a second "Alternative" type compilation, what with the Further Listening capturing all the B-sides anyway, in various forms. However, I've burned my own version of 'Besides', and it can easily fit onto 2 CDs, if you include all the UK B-sides that appeared on CD and DVD singles since 'Alternative', and miss out just the 'live' B-sides:

(Disc 1)
1. The Truck Driver And His Mate 3:34
2. Hit And Miss 4:06
3. In The Night 1995 4:18
4. Betrayed 5:17
5. How I Learned To Hate Rock 'N' Roll 4:38
6. Discoteca (New Version) 3:46
7. The Calm Before The Storm 2:46
8. Confidential (1992 Demo For Tina Turner) 4:45
9. The Boy Who Couldn't Keep His Clothes On 5:44
10. Delusions Of Grandieur 5:02
11. The View From Your Balcony 3:43
12. Disco Potential 4:07
13. Silver Age 3:33
14. Screaming 4:57
15. Je T'aime… Moi Non Plus 4:12
16. The Ghost Of Myself 4:03
17. Casting A Shadow 4:37
18. Lies 4:42
(78:02)

(Disc 2)
19. Sail Away 4:34
20. Sexy Northener 3:40
21. Always 5:05
22. Break 4 Love (UK Radio Edit) 3:27
23. Nightlife 3:56
24. Searching For The Face Of Jesus 3:25
25. Between Two Islands 5:12
26. Friendly Fire 3:22
27. We’re The Pet Shop Boys 4:37
28. Transparent 3:52
29. I Didn’t Get Where I Am Today 3:38
30. The Resurrectionist 3:10
31. Girls Don't Cry 2:34
32. In Private (7-Inch Mix) 4:11
33. Blue On Blue 3:13
34. No Time For Tears (7-Inch Mix) 3:37
35. Bright Young Things
36. Party Song
(61:37 - not including Bright Young Things and Party Song)

So, there's still about 17 minutes left of additional B-side tracks, including the two tracks forthcoming with 'Numb'. Maybe if we get a 4th single, the B-sides will nicely fill up two full CDs - 'Fugitive (7-Inch Mix)', included, perhaps?

The only B-sides I've not included here are:

Always On My Mind (Live) 4:02
Being Boring (Live) 6:44
Red Letter Day (Live) 3:47
Love Comes Quickly (Live) 5:03
West End Girls (Live At The Mermaid Theatre)

See - it can be done! Doubt we'll see anything like this as a full release ever, mind you. Still, I have CD burner, and all these above tracks in their released versions, so I can make it for myself!

Yes, EP! It's what I would like to get from Pet Shop Boys next year (if not Alternative 2). Something like Introspective followed Actually: 5-6 tracks of 6-10 minutes length each, maybe a couple of remixes. Or great cover :). And utterly electronic sound.

Good title, I quite love it!

You're absolutely right, although I have to object: Disco (Disco 3, in particular) title sounds well. But Disco 4 (and more) will really sound daft and monotonous, so they must keep Disco as trilogy, and start another series of remix albums after tenth (or eleventh) studio one.
